The Seahawks previously played home games in the Kingdome (1976–1999) and Husky Stadium (1994–2001).

The Seattle metropolitan area of around 3.7 million people is the 15th largest metropolitan area in the United States. In July 2013, it was one of only three major American cities rated as having a AAA credit rating by Standard & Poor’s (along with San Francisco and New York City).
