The Packers are the last of the “small town teams” which were common in the NFL during the league’s early days of strict parity between the franchisees. Founded in secret by Earl “Curly” Lambeau and George Whitney Calhoun on August 11, 1919, from a newspaper report of a local cricket match at East High School, just after World War I ended, it is one of only two remaining franchises from that era still operating in their original city (the Chicago Bears being the other).
The team played its games through 1923 on an improvised field next to East High School before moving to Bellevue Park; Lambeau Stadium was built four years later. Initially a independent professional football team until 1921 when joined NFL and has since won thirteen league championships—the most in NFL history—with nine pre–Super Bowl NFL titles and four Super Bowl victories. The Packers have had a long-standing rivalry with the Bears; much of which has centered around former Packer coach Vince Lombardi and former Bear coach Mike Ditka..
The Indianapolis Colts
The Indianapolis Colts are the only team with a perfect record so far this season. They have wins against the Green Bay Packers, Houston Texans, and Detroit Lions. The Colts are led by their veteran quarterback, Andrew Luck, and their star wide receiver, T.Y. Hilton. The Colts have a tough schedule ahead of them, but they have the talent to finish the season undefeated.
