The Ravens were established in 1996, when Art Modell, who was then the owner of the Cleveland Browns, announced plans to relocate the franchise to Baltimore. As part of a settlement between Modell and the city of Cleveland, the Ravens agreed to remain in the AFC North and Modell was allowed to take his team’s history with him to Baltimore. The Browns’ intellectual property, including team name, logos, training facility, and history, were kept in trust and the franchise was regarded by the NFL as suspended; meaning that Cleveland Browns could be reactivated by another owner should Modell have failed to find suitable funding for a new stadium in Baltimore.[1][2] The Ravens have qualified for the NFL playoffs eleven times since 2000, with two Super Bowl victories (Super Bowl XXXV and XLVII), two AFC Championship titles (2000 and 2012), 15 playoff victories (9th all-time), four AFC North division titles (2003, 2006, 2011, 2018),[3] five AFC Wild Card playoff berths (2000, 2001, 2003 2004,[4] 2006,[5] and 2014),[6] and are currently the only team in NFL history to hold a perfect record in multiple Super Bowl appearances. The Seahawks are also one of only five franchises dating back to 1970 that has played in both an AFC Championship game and NFC Championship game.[7][8]

San Francisco 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers are a professional American football team located in the San Francisco Bay Area. They compete in the National Football League as a member of the league’s National Football Conference West division.

The 49ers have been in existence since 1946 as a charter member of the All-America Football Conference before joining the NFL in 1949 when the AAFC merged with them. The 49ers weren’t very successful during their first 25 years in the league, only making it to the playoffs five times and never winning more than 10 games in a season until 1981 under Head Coach Bill Walsh, who drafted quarterback Joe Montana out of Notre Dame with their first ever draft pick that year. From 1983 onwards, Montana and Walsh led San Francisco to six Super Bowls—including victories in Super Bowls XVI, XIX, XXIII, and XXIV—making them one of only five teams (along with Pittsburgh, Dallas, New England and Denver) to have won more than four Lombardi Trophies.[11][12][13] After Montana retired following their last title win prior to his eventual induction into Canton for his Hall of Fame career in 2000,[14] Steve Young took over as quarterback and rose to prominence by leading San Francisco back to several more playoff appearances—including NFC West division titles six times (in 1994–1995,[15] 1997,[16] 2001,[17] 2002–2003[18]) and an appearance in Super Bowl XXXVII—while being named NFL MVP three consecutive years (1992–1994).[19][20][21] In March 2019, Lynch was fired after compiling a 4–12 record over two seasons.[22][23] He was immediately replaced by former Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy.[24][25][26]
