Wondering what NFL teams are playing on Christmas 2021? Check out this list of all the teams that will be playing on Christmas Day!
Christmas Eve Games
On Christmas Eve this year, four NFL teams will be playing. The games are: the Los Angeles Rams vs. the Dallas Cowboys, the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. the Baltimore Ravens, the New Orleans Saints vs. the Minnesota Vikings, and the San Francisco ers vs. the Arizona Cardinals.
Los Angeles Rams vs. Seattle Seahawks
On tap for Christmas Eve this year is an NFC West showdown between the Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks. This game was originally scheduled for Sunday, but it was moved to Saturday to accommodate for possible changes to the NFL schedule due to COVID-19. This will be the first time these two teams have played on Christmas Eve since 1983, when they were both in the AFC West.
These two teams have a history dating back to the days of the Seahawks’ original owner, George Allen. Allen was known for his frugality, and he was reluctant to spend money on players or personnel. As a result, the Seahawks were often outmatched by their opponents. However, they found a way to compete by playing a physical brand of football that intimidated their opponents.
The Rams are currently in first place in the NFC West with a record of 9-4. They are coming off of a disappointing loss to the New England Patriots in which they blew a 12-point lead in the fourth quarter. The Seahawks are in second place in the division with an 8-5 record. They are coming off of a big win over the Minnesota Vikings in which they held them to just nine points.
This should be a great game between two division rivals with a lot on the line. The winner will take sole possession of first place in the division and will also clinch a playoff berth. The loser will likely still make the playoffs, but they will need help from other teams in order to do so.
Minnesota Vikings vs. New Orleans Saints
The New Orleans Saints will take on the Minnesota Vikings on Christmas Day in what promises to be an exciting matchup. The Saints are coming off a disappointing loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC Championship game, but they will be eager to bounce back against a Vikings team that they have beaten in each of their last three meetings. The Vikings, meanwhile, are coming off a wild card win over the New York Giants and will be looking to continue their winning ways on Christmas Day.
Christmas Day Games
The Detroit Lions and the Dallas Cowboys have a bit of a rivalry when it comes to who gets to play on Christmas Day. The Lions have not played on Christmas Day since 2001, when they beat the Cowboys 27-20. The Cowboys have not played on Christmas Day since 2009, when they lost to the Saints 24-17.
Houston Texans vs. Indianapolis Colts
On Christmas Day 2021, the Houston Texans will be playing the Indianapolis Colts. This will be the first time these two teams have played each other on Christmas Day. The game will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Buffalo Bills
The Pittsburgh Steelers will take on the Buffalo Bills on Christmas Day 2021. This will be the first time these two teams have faced off on Christmas Day. The game will be played at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This is sure to be a great game between two of the best teams in the NFL.
