There’s no question that the NFL is a big business. But which school produces the most NFL talent? Here’s a look at the colleges with the most players in the NFL.
Miami
Since the NFL began in 1920, Miami has produced more NFL players than any other school. As of 2019, Miami has had 532 players drafted into the NFL, including Hall of Famers Michael Irvin, Jimmy Johnson, and Warren Sapp.
USC
USC Trojans have had the most NFL draft picks of any college football program since the inception of the common draft in 1967. As of the 2019 NFL Draft, USC has had 516 players drafted into the NFL, with 217 of those being taken in the first round.
Ohio State
As of September 2020, Ohio State has the most NFL players of any college football program with 154 active players. This is followed by Notre Dame with 138 players, USC with 136 players, and Alabama with 133 players.
Florida
Florida has produced the most NFL players of any school, with 354 players as of the 2019 season. This is significantly more than the second-place school, USC, which has produced 289 NFL players. Florida has had at least one player drafted in every NFL Draft since 1963, and had at least four players drafted in every NFL Draft from 1971 to 2009.
LSU
As of September 2020, LSU has the most NFL players of any school with 56. This is closely followed by Alabama with 55 and then Ohio State with 53. Clemson (50), Florida (49), Notre Dame (47), Georgia (46), Oklahoma (45), and Auburn (44) round out the top 10.
