What Size Baseball Jersey Should I Buy?

One of the most common questions we get here at Baseball Jersey HQ is “What size baseball jersey should I buy?” It’s a great question, and one that doesn’t have a simple answer. In this post, we’ll break down the factors you need to consider when choosing a jersey size, so you can make sure you’re getting the right fit.

What Size Baseball Jersey Should I Buy?

Decide what size you need

There are a few different measurements that you need to take into consideration when purchasing a baseball jersey. The first is your chest size, which is taken by measuring around the fullest part of your chest. The second measurement you need to take is your sleeve length, which is taken from the center of your back to the outer edge of your shoulder and down to your wrist. The last measurement you need to take is your waist size, which is taken by measuring around the smallest part of your waist.

Once you have these measurements, you need to compare them to the size chart of the baseball jersey you are interested in purchasing. If you fall between two sizes, it is best to order the larger of the two sizes. This will ensure that the jersey will fit comfortably and will not be too tight or too loose.

Consider the player

When you are looking to buy a baseball jersey, you should first consider the player. If you are buying a jersey for a specific player, then you will want to make sure that you get the right size. You can usually find the player’s size on the back of their baseball card. If you are buying a jersey for a child, then you will want to make sure that you get the right size. You can usually find the child’s size on the back of their baseball tee shirt.

If you are buying a jersey for yourself, then you will want to make sure that you get the right size. You can usually find your own size on the back of your favorite baseball tee shirt.

Consider the type of shirt

Type of shirt – The first thing you need to think about is the type of shirt you want. There are two main types: fitted and relaxed. Relaxed shirts are a little baggier, and they’re the kind you see most guys wearing on a day-to-day basis. Fitted shirts are, well, fitted — they’re more like a dress shirt, and they taper in at the waist. They look good, but they’re not as comfortable as a relaxed shirt. If you’re not sure which to get, we recommend going with a relaxed shirt.

Size- Once you’ve decided on the type of shirt, it’s time to think about size. Again, there are two things to consider here: chest width and length. To measure your chest width, wrap a measuring tape around your back and under your arms — make sure the tape is level all the way around! For length, measure from the top of your shoulder all the way down to your waistline.

Once you have those measurements, consult our size chart below to find the perfect fit!

Shirts Length (in) Chest Width (in)
XS 27 18
S 28 20
M 29 22
L 30 24
XL 31 26

Consider the climate

The type of climate you live in or the climate you’ll be playing baseball in should be a big consideration when purchasing a baseball jersey. If you live in a warm weather state but your baseball games will be played in a cooler climate, then you’ll want to purchase a jersey that will keep you warm. The opposite is true as well. If you live in a cooler climate but your baseball games will be played in a warmer climate, then you’ll want to purchase a jersey that will keep you cool. There are many different types of fabrics that can be used in jerseys that offer different levels of comfort in different climates. Do your research to find the right fabric for the right climate.
