The Major League Baseball playoffs are upon us. Here’s a look at what teams are in and what their chances are.
American League
As the MLB regular season comes to a close, ten teams are in the running for a spot in the postseason. In the American League, the Houston Astros, Los Angeles Angels, Minnesota Twins, New York Yankees, Oakland Athletics, and Tampa Bay Rays have clinched playoff spots. The Cleveland Indians and Boston Red Sox are still fighting for the final spot in the AL Wild Card game.
New York Yankees
The New York Yankees are an American professional baseball team based in the Bronx, New York City. They compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the American League (AL) East division. They are one of two major league clubs based in New York City, the other being the National League’s (NL) New York Mets. The Yankees began play in the 1901 season as the Baltimore Orioles (no relation to the modern Baltimore Orioles team), switching conferences with the Boston Pilgrims (later the Red Sox) that year and becoming known as the Highlanders until 1913.
Cleveland Indians
The Cleveland Indians are one of two teams in the American League Central Division. Their main rivals are the Detroit Tigers. The Indians play their home games at Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio. The team’s spring training facility is in Goodyear, Arizona, where they share a complex with the Cincinnati Reds.

National League
The National League of Major League Baseball is made up of 15 teams. These teams are the Atlanta Braves, the Chicago Cubs, the Cincinnati Reds, the Colorado Rockies, the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Miami Marlins, the Milwaukee Brewers, the New York Mets, the Philadelphia Phillies, the Pittsburgh Pirates, the San Diego Padres, the San Francisco Giants, the St. Louis Cardinals, and the Washington Nationals.
Los Angeles Dodgers
MLB playoffs are upon us, and the Los Angeles Dodgers are in it to win it. With a record of 106-56, the Dodgers had the best record in baseball this season and are poised to make a deep run in the postseason.
The Dodgers will be facing the Milwaukee Brewers in the National League Division Series, and they will have home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. The Dodgers are stocked with talent at every position, led by NL MVP candidate Cody Bellinger. They also have a deep pitching staff that includes ace Clayton Kershaw and breakout star Walker Buehler.

Washington Nationals
