The teams
The two teams that are in the NBA Finals this year are the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors. These are two of the best teams in the NBA and they have been dominant all season. This should be a great series.
Los Angeles Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers are an American professional basketball team based in Los Angeles. The Lakers compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA), as a member of the league’s Western Conference in the Pacific Division. The Lakers play their home games at Staples Center, an arena shared with the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers, the Los Angeles Sparks of the Women’s National Basketball Association, and the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League. The franchise began with the 1947 purchase of a disbanded team, the Detroit Gems of the National Basketball League (NBL). The new team began playing in Minneapolis, calling themselves the Minneapolis Lakers. Initially a member of the NBL, the Lakers won the 1948 NBL championship before joining the rival Basketball Association of America (BAA), where they would win five of their next six championships, making them self-proclaimed “titles town”.
Following George Mikan’s retirement after prior seasons with diminishing results, Howell Boschoff took over as head coach flower children led to two championships in three years atop a Western Conference full of aging stars such as Bob Pettit and Bill Russell. After Johnson’s retirement following yet another injury-plagued season, Westhead guided Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and James Worthy to one title apiece before being replaced just prior to their 1981 playoff run by Lakers assistant Paul Westphal; under his leadership, they won titles in both 1982 and 1985 against their cross-town rivals, respectively led by former Celtics head coach Bill Fitch and future Hall of Famer Larry Bird. With still more injuries to an aging core plus ongoing conflict between head coach Riley and eventual NBA Finals MVP Magic Johnson during 1988–89, culminating publicly with Johnson’s formal request for a trade after himself missing most of that season due to injury;[17][18] much like their previous counterparts before them dating back to Mikan’s era nearly 40 years priorNowitzki retired after 21 seasons with Dallas on April 9, 2019 with a 29-point performance against Phoenix.[119] In his post-game press conference Nowitzki stated that he was “winding down [his] career”,[120] but did not officially announce his retirement.[121] On April 10th it was revealed through sources close to Nowitzki that he had played his final game,[122][123] however this was not made official until after Dallas’ final game on April 10th when Nowitzki addressed reporters stating that he hated making decisions and that he would take some time off and mull over his decision during the summer.[124][125]”We didn’t give him any indication that this was going to be his last game,” said Carlisle after Nowitzki’s final game.[126]
Nowitzki ended his career ranked seventh all time in points scored,[127] fourth in field goals made,[128] sixth in three-pointers made,[129] eleventh in free throws made[130] and seventh in total rebounds.[131][132][133][134][135][136][137][138]”It was pretty emotional out there,” said Nuggets guard Monte Morris about facing Nowitzki for likely the final time.[139]”One of my favorite players ever.”[140]”I’m never going to forget this moment,” said Chamberlain about playing against Nowitzki for what could have been one last time.”[141]
Miami Heat
The Miami Heat are an American professional basketball team based in Miami. The Heat compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Eastern Conference Southeast Division. The Heat play their home games at American Airlines Arena, and have won three NBA championships.
The franchise began play in 1988 as an expansion team where they made the playoffs led by star center Alonzo Mourning. The following year, they added point guard Tim Hardaway to form one of the NBA’s best backcourts of all time known as “Flash and Dash” or “Run TMC”. After winning their first ever division title in 1997, led by Hardaway, Mourning and Jamal Mashburn, the Heat failed to make the playoffs in 1998 before acquiring point guard Eddie Jones and small forward Dana Barros from free agency in 1999 to help lead another playoff charge that resulted in a first round exit. Butler would eventually leave the team in early 2002 signing with the Los Angeles Lakers. O’Neal was traded to the Phoenix Suns during the offseason where he teamed up with Steve Nash to form one of those rare championship “Superteams.” Grant Hill left for Orlando Magic also during that offseason, but instead was beset by injuries that limited him for most of his career there.

The match-ups
Lakers vs. Heat
This year’s NBA Finals is a rematch of the 2006 Finals, when the Miami Heat, led by Dwayne Wade, defeated the Dallas Mavericks, led by Dirk Nowitzki, in six games. In the 2020 NBA Finals, the Los Angeles Lakers will face the Miami Heat. The Lakers are led by LeBron James and Anthony Davis, while the Heat are led by Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo.
James vs. Wade
It’s the match-up that everyone’s been waiting for: LeBron James vs. Dwyane Wade. The two superstars have been on a collision course for the NBA Finals since the start of the season, and it’s finally going to happen.
The two players have a lot of history, both as teammates and adversaries. They were drafted in 2003, with James going first overall and Wade going fifth. They played together on the Miami Heat from 2010 to 2014, winning two championships in that time.
Now they’re facing off against each other in the NBA Finals for the first time. James is leading his Cleveland Cavaliers team into battle against Wade and the Miami Heat. It’s sure to be an epic series.
The predictions
This section will analyze and predict which teams have the best chance at making it to the NBA Finals this year. We’ll also take a look at which teams are most likely to win the championship.
Who will win?
This is a difficult question to answer as there are so many variables that go into the outcome of an NBA Finals series. However, we can take a look at some of the past Finals matchups and see if there are any clear favorites.
In the past 20 years, the team with the best regular season record has gone on to win the Finals 11 times. That includes three of the last four years, with the Golden State Warriors winning in 2015, 2017 and 2018. The Warriors also have the best record in the league this season, so they will be looking to continue that trend.
The other team that has been dominant in recent years is the Cleveland Cavaliers. They have made it to the Finals in four straight seasons, winning in 2016 and 2017. This year, however, they are not one of the top teams in the league and will not be favored to win it all.
So, based on recent history, it would appear that the Golden State Warriors are once again the team to beat in 2019. However, as we all know, anything can happen in sports and there are no guarantees. So be sure to tune into the NBA Finals this June to see who comes out on top!
What will the final score be?
It is impossible to know what the final score of the NBA Finals will be until the game is over. However, there are some predictions that can be made based on the teams that are playing.
The Golden State Warriors are predicted to win the Finals with a score of 4-1. The Warriors have won three championships in the last four years and are considered to be one of the best teams in NBA history. They have two of the best players in the world in Steph Curry and Kevin Durant, and they also have a deep bench that can contribute when needed.
The Toronto Raptors are predicted to lose the Finals with a score of 1-4. The Raptors are a good team, but they are not on the same level as the Warriors. They do not have any superstar players, and their depth is not as strong as Golden State’s.
