Between them, these two teams have accounted for 38 out of 70 Eastern Conference titles (54.3%). Of those 38 times that they finished atop their conference standings,Boston went on to win 19 NBA Championships (50%), while Los Angeles won 16 NBA Championships (42%). At times standing atop Eastern Conference are teams like Chicago Bulls with 6 conference titles and Miami Heat with 5 conference titles.

Western Conference

The Western Conference is made up of fifteen teams, divided into three divisions. The teams in each division play each other four times a year, and the top eight teams in the conference make the playoffs.

The Golden State Warriors are the defending NBA champions and are currently in first place in the conference. The Warriors are followed by the Houston Rockets, the Portland Trail Blazers, the Oklahoma City Thunder, and the Utah Jazz.
