With the regular season now over, it’s time to take a look at which teams are still in the running for the NBA championship.

The Western Conference
The Western Conference is still represented by the Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets, Portland Trail Blazers, and Denver Nuggets. All four of these teams have done exceptionally well this season and have proven themselves to be top contenders in the playoffs.
The Golden State Warriors
As of the 2020 NBA Playoffs, the Golden State Warriors are still in contention for the championship. The Warriors are a professional basketball team based in Oakland, California. They are members of the National Basketball Association (NBA), and they play in the Western Conference’s Pacific Division.
The Houston Rockets
The Houston Rockets are an American professional basketball team based in Houston, Texas. The Rockets compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Western Conference Southwest Division. The team plays its home games at the Toyota Center, located in Downtown Houston. Throughout their history, the Rockets have won two NBA championships and four Western Conference titles. The team was formed in 1967 as an expansion team that joined the NBA along with the Seattle SuperSonics. In 1975, the franchise was moved to Houston. The Rockets won only 15 games in their debut season as a franchise in 1967. In the 1968 NBA draft, they selected power forward Elvin Hayes first overall. Hayes improved the Rockets’ record to 36 wins and 47 losses, enough for the franchise’s first playoff appearance in 1969, but they were defeated by the Atlanta Hawks in the first round.
The Portland Trail Blazers
The Portland Trail Blazers, commonly known as the Blazers, are an American professional basketball team based in Portland, Oregon. The Blazers compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Western Conference Northwest Division. The franchise played its home games in the Memorial Coliseum before moving to Moda Center in 1995 (originally known as the Rose Garden).
The Eastern Conference
The Boston Celtics, Toronto Raptors, Milwaukee Bucks, and Philadelphia 76ers are the teams remaining in the Eastern Conference. The Celtics and Raptors are tied at 2-0 in their best of seven series. The Bucks are up 2-0 against the Detroit Pistons. Finally, the Sixers are up 2-1 against the Brooklyn Nets.
The Toronto Raptors
The Toronto Raptors are a Canadian professional basketball team based in Toronto, Ontario. The Raptors compete in the National Basketball Association, as a member of the league’s Eastern Conference Atlantic Division. The team was established in 1995, along with the Vancouver Grizzlies, as part of the NBA’s expansion into Canada. When the Grizzlies relocated to Memphis, Tennessee to become the Memphis Grizzlies in 2001, the Raptors became the only Canadian-based team in the NBA.

The Milwaukee Bucks
The Milwaukee Bucks are an American professional basketball team based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Bucks compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Eastern Conference Central Division. The team was founded in 1968 as an expansion team, and play at the Fiserv Forum. former Progressive Insurance company executive Wesley Edens and hedge fund managers Marc Lasry and Jamie Dinan purchased a controlling interest in the team in 2014.
The Bucks have won one league title (1971), two conference titles (1971 and 1974), and 13 division titles (1971–74, 1976, 1980–86, 2001, 2019). They have featured such notable players as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Oscar Robertson, Junior Bridgeman, Glenn Robinson, Ray Allen, Sam Cassell, Michael Redd, Terry Cummings, Andrew Bogut, Brandon Jennings, Giannis Antetokounmpo.
The Philadelphia 76ers
The Philadelphia 76ers are an American professional basketball team based in the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The 76ers compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Eastern Conference Atlantic Division and play at Wells Fargo Center. Founded in 1946 and originally known as the Syracuse Nationals, they are one of the oldest franchises in the NBA, and one of only eight (out of 23) to survive the league’s first decade.
The 76ers have had a rich history, with many of the greatest players in NBA history having played for the organization, including Wilt Chamberlain, Hal Greer, Billy Cunningham, Julius Erving, Moses Malone, Charles Barkley, and Allen Iverson. They have won three NBA championships, with their first coming as the Syracuse Nationals in 1955. The second title came in 1967, a team which was led by Chamberlain. The third title came in 1983, won by a team led by Malone. They have only been back to the NBA Finals two times since then: when Erving led them there in 2001 and when Iverson led them there in 2001.
