Deion Sanders’s NFL teams
Deion Sanders played for several teams during his NFL career. He started out with the Atlanta Falcons, then played for the San Francisco 49ers, the Dallas Cowboys, the Washington Redskins, and finally the Baltimore Ravens.
Atlanta Falcons (1989-1993)
Sanders was drafted by the Falcons in the first round of the 1989 NFL Draft. In his five seasons with Atlanta, he helped lead the Falcons to three playoff appearances, including an NFC Championship Game appearance in 1991. He was named to the Pro Bowl in 1992.
In 1993, Sanders signed with the San Francisco 49ers.
San Francisco 49ers (1994)
Sanders signed with the San Francisco 49ers on September 14, 1994, midway through the 1994 season.
The move reunited Sanders with former Florida State teammate and close friend Steve Young. It also put him on the same team as another former Florida State Seminole and Dallas Cowboy teammate, Ken Norton Jr.. In his first game with the 49ers, he recorded two tackles and two assists in a 24-17 victory over the Washington Redskins. The next week against the New York Giants, he recorded four tackles in a 13-10 victory.
Dallas Cowboys (1995-1999)
Sanders signed with the Dallas Cowboys as a free agent in 1995. He helped lead the team to Super Bowl XXX that season. The following year, he had 53 tackles and scored two touchdowns as the Cowboys made it back to the Super Bowl, this time losing to the Packers. In 1997, Sanders intercepted five passes and returned them for 177 yards and two touchdowns. The following year, he had six interceptions and scored three touchdowns. He was released by the Cowboys after the 1999 season.
Washington Redskins (2000)
On March 2, 2000, Sanders signed a seven-year contract with the Washington Redskins worth $56 million, making him the highest-paid defensive player in NFL history at the time. He was released by the Redskins on February 12, 2002, having played just two seasons for the team.
