The most recent change came in 2020 when, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the NBA Finals were played in a bubble and all games were held at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. As a result of this unique circumstance, the Finals were shortened to a best-of-seven series.

Assuming that there are no more changes or postponements, this year’s NBA Finals will follow the standard seven-game format.
