Set up GSC and Bing Webmaster tools

Adding GSC and Bing Webmaster tools to your website allows you to track your website’s traffic and improve your SEO. These tools also allow you to submit your website to Google and Bing, which can help you get more traffic. In this article, we’ll show you how to set up GSC and Bing Webmaster tools.

Go to Google Search Console

To get started, you’ll need to set up your website in Google Search Console (formerly Google Webmaster Tools). This free service from Google offers a host of features and data to help you understand and improve your website’s visibility in search results.

Before you can use Search Console, you’ll need to verify that you own your website. You can do this by linking your site to a Google Analytics account or by adding a meta tag to your site’s home page. Once you’ve verified ownership, you can start using the features in Search Console to assess and improve your site.

Bing Webmaster Tools
Bing also offers a free service called Bing Webmaster Tools that provides similar data and features as Google Search Console. You can use either service, or both, to improve your website’s visibility in Bing and Google search results.

Add your website

Before you can use either service, you need to add and verify your website. You can do this in two ways, either by using your Google Analytics tracking code or by uploading an HTML file to your website.

To add your site using your Google Analytics tracking code:

1. Sign in to your Google Analytics account, and select the Admin tab.
2. In the Account column, select + Create new account.
3. If you’re creating an account for a business or organization, enter its name in the Account Name field. If you’re adding your personal site, you can leave this field blank.
4 . Under Reporting Time Zone, select the correct time zone for reports about this account. Then click Next Step.
5 . On the next page, enter the website’s URL in the Website’s URL field (for example, www.example-pet-store1234.com). If you’re adding a second website later, you can add its URL here as well (www.example-pet-store1234BIS.com). Then click Finish.

Verify your ownership

If you’re a site owner, you can verify your site ownership in two ways: by adding a DNS record to your domain’s DNS configuration or by uploading an HTML file to your website. If you verify your site ownership by DNS record, Google will automatically detect any changes made to your DNS records. You can use this verification method for all domains, including subdomains.

If you verify your site ownership by uploading an HTML file to your website, you’ll need to upload a new HTML file each time you verify your site. You can use this verification method for all domains, including subdomains.

Set up Bing Webmaster Tools

Log into your Microsoft account associated with your website. If you don’t have one, you can create one for free.

In the top right corner of the screen, click on the profile icon, and then select Bing Webmaster Tools from the drop-down menu.

Click Add a Site.

Enter the URL of your website, verify that you’re not a robot by completing the CAPTCHA challenge, and then click Submit.

On the next screen, select Copy and paste a meta tag to verify site ownership and then click Verify.

Bing will provide you with a meta tag. Copy this tag and paste it into the section of your website’s home page. If you’re using WordPress, you can do this by going to Appearance > Theme Editor and selecting the Theme Header template from the list on the right side of the screen (header.php). Once you locate the section, paste your Bing meta tag just below it. Click Update File to save your changes.

Go back to Bing Webmaster Tools and click Verify again. Your site should now be verified!

Keyword Research

Identify your competitors

In order to determine what time the game comes on tonight, you will need to identify your competition. There are a few different ways to do this:

1. Look up the schedules of similar shows.
2. Find out when their new seasons start.
3. Check when their reruns air.
4. See if there are any live events happening around the same time.

Once you have a good idea of when your competition is airing, you can start to narrow down the time slot for your own show.

Conduct a keyword gap analysis

Keyword gap analysis is the process of finding which keywords your competitors are ranking for that you are not. This is a valuable exercise because it can help you identify areas where you are vulnerable and also help you come up with new content ideas.

To do a keyword gap analysis, start by making a list of your top 10-20 competitors. Then, use a tool like Ahrefs or Moz to find out which keywords they are ranking for. Finally, compare this list to the keywords you are currently ranking for to see where the gaps are.

Here are some tips for conducting a keyword gap analysis:

-Make sure you are using the same keyword research tool as your competitor. This will ensure that you are seeing the same data.
-Focus on your top 10-20 competitors. These are the people who pose the biggest threat to your business.
-Look at both organic and paid keywords. Your competitor may be ranking for a keyword organically but also bidding on it in paid search. Both represent an opportunity for you to improve your rankings.
-Don’t just focus on the top few results. Your competitor may be ranking for many long-tail keywords that you are not. These can be easy to rank for and can add up to a lot of traffic over time.

Find your main ‘money’ keywords

When it comes to keyword research for your website or blog, there are two main types of keywords:
-Primary keywords: These are the main, or “money” keywords that you want to rank for in search engines. These are usually short, 4-5 word phrases with a high search volume. For example, “What time does the game come on tonight?”

-Secondary keywords: These are longer, 6-8 word phrases that are related to your primary keywords. They have lower search volumes, but can be helpful in ranking for your primary keywords. For example, “How can I find out what time the game comes on tonight?”

Technical SEO

Technical SEO is the process of optimizing a website for the search engines. It is a subset of SEO that focuses on improving the technical aspects of a website. Technical SEO includes optimizing the website architecture, structure, and code. It also deals with optimizing the server configuration and site speed. Technical SEO can be a complicated and time-consuming process, but it is important for the success of a website.

Leverage “Inspect URL” feature in GSC

This is a wonderful feature that allows you to check the URL of a page on your website to see if there are any technical SEO issues with it. Simply enter the URL into the “Inspect URL” field, and Google will analyze it for you.

If there are any issues, you’ll see them listed under the “Errors” section. From here, you can click on each error to learn more about it, and how to fix it.

Here are some common errors that you might see:

-404 errors: These occur when a page can’t be found. Usually, this is because the URL has been changed, or the page has been deleted. To fix these errors, you’ll need to update your sitemap and 301 redirect any old URLs to the new ones.

-Duplicate content: This means that there is more than one version of a page on your website (e.g. http://example.com/page and http://www.example.com/page). To fix this, you’ll need to choose one version of the page as the canonical URL, and use 301 redirects to send traffic from the other versions to the canonical one. You can also add rel=”canonical” tags to point search engines to the right page.

-Robots.txt errors: These occur when your robots.txt file isn’t configured correctly, and search engines can’t crawl some of your pages as a result. To fix these errors, you’ll need to edit your robots.txt file and make sure that it’s allowing access to all of your pages.

Ensure your website is mobile-friendly

Making sure your website is mobile-friendly is one of the most important things you can do to ensure your site is optimized for search engines. In 2018, Google updated its algorithm to factor in mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal, so if your site isn’t optimized for mobile devices, you could be at a disadvantage in the search engine results pages (SERPs).

To ensure your site ismobile-friendly, start by checking Google’s Mobile-Friendly Test. This test will analyze a URL and report if the page has a mobile-friendly design. If the page isn’t mobile-friendly, you’ll see a list of specific problems that need to be fixed. Once you’ve made changes to your site to make it more mobile-friendly, be sure to resubmit it to Google for re-evaluation.

Check your site’s loading speed

No matter how great your website looks or how well it ranks in search results, if it takes too long to load, users will quickly become frustrated and leave. That’s why one of the most important aspects of technical SEO is site speed. You can check your site’s loading speed with Google’s free PageSpeed Insights tool. Just enter your URL and click “Analyze.” Google will give you a report detailing what’s causing your site to load slowly and offer recommendations for how to fix it.

On-page and Content

Fix duplicate, missing, and truncated title tags

– Duplicate: More than one title tag on a page – What Time Does The Game Come On Tonight? – TV Schedule
– Missing: No title tags on a page
– Truncated: A title tag that has been cut off before the end, usually due to too many characters

Find and fix duplicate or missing meta descriptions

search engines will show the meta description in search results when the searched for phrase is contained in the description. If you don’t have a meta description, or if your meta description is missing or incorrect, search engines will sometimes pull text from your page to use as the description in search results. While this text may be relevant to what people are searching for, it’s not always the most accurate or helpful description of your page.

Find and fix multiple H1 tags

It’s easy to miss an H1 tag on your website – especially if you have a lot of content. But search engines use them to help organize and understand your content, so it’s important to have them in all the right places. Here’s how to make sure you have H1 tags on your pages, and that they’re helping rather than hurting your SEO.

What is an H1 tag?
An H1 tag is the HTML code that defines a heading on a webpage. Headings are stored in hierarchical order, and the H1 tag is meant to be the title or main heading of a page. On a normal blog post or article, the H1 would be the title of the post (e.g., “How to Make a Great Cup of Coffee”).

Why are H1 tags important for SEO?
H1 tags are important because they give structure to your content and help search engines understand what your page is about. A well-optimized H1 can also help searchers quickly scan a page and decide if it’s relevant to their query. So if you want your content to rank high in search results, make sure you’re using H1 tags correctly.

Tips for using H1 tags on your website
Now that you know what an H1 is and why it matters for SEO, here are some tips for using them on your website:

-Use only one H1 per page: Multiple H1 tags can be confusing for both users and search engines, so it’s best to stick with one per page. If you need additional headings, use lower-level headings (H2, H3, etc.) instead.
-Make sure your H1 is relevant: The text in your H1 should accurately reflect the topic of your page. Don’t stuff keywords into your heading just for the sake of it – focus on making it helpful and informative instead.
-Keep it short and sweet: Shorter headings are easier for users to scan, so try to keep yours under 60 characters. This can be tough when you also want to include keywords, but our general rule of thumb is “quality over quantity.”
-Place it at the top of the page: Search engines give more weight to text that appears higher up on a page, so try to place your H1 near the beginning of your content

Off-Page SEO

Off-page SEO is about trying to get other websites to talk about your website. This can be done by optimizing your website content for social media sharing, getting other website to link to your website, and guest blogging on other websites. By doing these things, you can increase your website’s visibility and organic traffic.

When looking at your competitor’s backlink profile, there are a few things you want to pay attention to:
-The quality of their links: You can use a tool like Majestic or Ahrefs to check the Domain Authority (DA) of the linking site. The higher the DA, the better.
-The quantity of their links: More links doesn’t always mean better, but it’s still something to pay attention to.
-The anchor text of their links: This is the text that is actually linked to their site. You want to make sure that it includes keywords that you are trying to rank for.
-The context of their links: The best links are those that come from within the body of an article (i.e., not in the author bio).

Link intersect is a great way to find link opportunities. You can use a number of different tools to do this, but my personal favorite is ahrefs.com.

To start, you’ll want to export a list of all the links pointing to your competitor’s site. Then, you’ll want to export a list of all the links pointing to sites in your industry. Once you have both lists, you can upload them into ahrefs and have the tool find all the intersection points.

What you’re looking for are sites that are linking to your competitor but not to you. These are opportunities for you to get a link from that site as well. Reach out to the site owner and let them know about your similar content and why it would be a good idea for them to link to you as well.

Off-page SEO is all about Promotion. Once you have your on-page optimized, you can start promoting your website by networking and building relationships.

A great way to get started with off-page promotion is to find and fix broken backlinks on your competitors’ websites. This will not only help them out, but it will also give you a chance to get your own website linked on their site.
