Vanderbilt Baseball has a long and storied history, dating back to the late 1800s. The team has won numerous SEC titles and made several appearances in the College World Series. Vanderbilt is one of the top collegiate baseball programs in the country and has produced numerous Major League Baseball players.

The Vanderbilt Commodores baseball team represents Vanderbilt University in NCAA Division I college baseball. The team is a member of the Southeastern Conference and plays its home games at Hawkins Field on the university’s Nashville, Tennessee campus. Vanderbilt has won five SEC regular season titles (1964, 1980, 2007, 2013, 2014), twelve SEC tournament championships (1980, 1985, 1991, 1994, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2007, 2013, 2014, 2015), and six College World Series appearances (1981, 1987, 1990 1991 ,2004). As of 2021 , Vanderbilt has appeared in 50 NCAA tournaments and their .702 NCAA tournament winning percentage ranks second all-time only behind their conference counterpart LSU (.707).

##### Josh Rutledge – Los Angeles Angels
Rutledge was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the 3rd round of the 2010 MLB Draft out of the University of Alabama. He made his MLB debut with the Rockies in 2012 and played for them until he was traded to the Angels in 2013. Rutledge has also played for the Boston Red Sox and San Francisco Giants.

##### Sonny Gray – Oakland Athletics/Cincinnati Reds
Gray was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 1st round of the 2011 MLB Draft out of Vanderbilt University. He made his MLB debut with the A’s in 2013 and was an All-Star in 2015. Gray was traded to the New York Yankees in 2017 and then to the Cincinnati Reds in 2019.

Minor was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 1st round ofthe 2009 MLB Draft out of Vanderbilt University. He made his MLB debut withthe Braves in 2010 and also played for theminor league affiliate Gwinnett Braves that same year. Minor pitched forAtlanta through 2014 before being traded tothe Milwaukee Brewers. Minor has also playedforthe Kansas City Royals, Seattle Mariners, andOakland Athletics. He is currently a free agentwiththe Texas Rangers
