The National Football League (NFL) playoffs are a single-elimination tournament held after the end of the regular season to determine the NFL champion. Seven teams from each of the league’s two conferences qualify for the playoffs. A tie-breaking procedure exists if required. The four division champions and two wild card teams from each conference play in the first round of the playoffs, also called the Wild Card Playoffs or Wild Card Weekend. The four winners advance to the Divisional Playoffs, and the two winners advance to the Conference Championships, with two more rounds leading up to Super Bowl Sunday, on which two teams play each other in order to become world champions.
