He was best known for his appearances in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) from 1987 to 1991 and again in 1992 and 1996, and in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in 1998. Warrior was a two-time WWF Intercontinental Champion and one-time WWF Tag Team Champion. He won the WWF Championship at WrestleMania VI, defeating Hulk Hogan in one of the most famous matches ever. Hellwig legally changed his name to Warrior in 1993.
