Clemson vs. Georgia Tech
On Tuesday, March 3rd, the Clemson Tigers took on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in a game that was full of action. The Yellow Jackets got on the board early, but the Tigers clawed their way back and won the game 9-5. Here are some highlights from the game.
Game Results
The Clemson Tigers defeated the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets by a score of 9-3. The Tigers were led by catcher Grayson Byrd, who went 3-for-4 with two RBIs.Starting pitcher Mat Clark got the win for Clemson, going six innings and giving up three runs on seven hits.
The Yellow Jackets were able to keep it close early on, but the Tigers pulled away with a five-run sixth inning. Georgia Tech starter Connor Thomas took the loss, going five innings and giving up four runs on seven hits.
With the win, Clemson improves to 24-5 on the season and 13-3 in ACC play. The Yellow Jackets fall to 18-11 overall and 7-9 in conference play.

Inning-by-Inning Breakdown
1st Inning: Clemson
The Tigers got on the scoreboard first in the top of the first with a two-out RBI double by Grayson Byrd. Georgia Tech answered right back with a two-out RBI double of their own by Tristin English to tie the game up at 1-1.
2nd Inning: Clemson
Clemson regained the lead in the top of the second inning with an RBI single by Jordan Greene. The Yellow Jackets once again answered with an RBI single of their own, this time by Austin Wilhite, to tie the game back up at 2-2.
3rd Inning: Tie game
The score remained tied at 2 until the bottom of the sixth inning when Georgia Tech took their first lead of the game on an RBI ground out by Luke Waddell. The Yellow Jackets added to their lead in the bottom of the seventh inning when Nick Wilhite hit a solo home run to make it 4-2 in favor or Georgia Tech.
4th Inning: Clemson
Clemson came right back in the top of the eighth inning to tie things back up at 4-4 on a two-run home run by Kier Meredith. The Tigers took the lead in the top of ninth on an RBI single by Sam Hall and held on to win 5-4.
Clemson vs. Florida State
The Clemson Tigers faced off against the Florida State Seminoles in a three-game series this past weekend. The Tigers won the first game of the series 6-4. Starting pitcher Matthew Crownover went six innings, giving up four runs on eight hits with two strikeouts. The Seminoles took the lead in the second game of the series, winning 10-4. The Tigers had a strong start in the third game of the series, but the Seminoles came back to win 12-8.
Game Results
The Clemson Tigers defeated the Florida State Seminoles by a score of 6-4 on Saturday afternoon in Tallahassee. With the victory, Clemson swept the three-game series and improved to 31-10 overall and 17-5 in the ACC. Florida State fell to 27-14 overall and 12-10 in conference play.
The Tigers got on the board first with a pair of runs in the top of the second inning. Nearly an hour later, play resumed and Florida State answered with single runs in both the bottom of the second and third innings to tie the game at 2-2.
In the top of the fifth, Clemson regained the lead with two more runs courtesy of RBIs from Jordan Greene and Sam Hall. The Seminoles evened things back up at 4-4 in the bottom half of the inning thanks to a two-run homer from Nander De Sedas, but that would be as close as they would get.
Chad Fairey gave Clemson some breathing room with a two-run blast in the top of the sixth, and that’s all reliever Ryan Miller would need as he pitched three scoreless innings to earn his seventh save of the season.
Starter Brooks Crawford (6-2) picked up his sixth win of 2019 after surrendering four runs (three earned) on eight hits while striking out four batters over six innings pitched.
Highlights
The Clemson Tigers took on the Florida State Seminoles in a three-game series this past weekend, coming away with two big wins. On Friday, freshman pitcher Reed Rohlman led the way for Clemson, going 3-for-4 at the plate with two RBIs. The Tigers’ pitching staff was also excellent, combining for 13 strikeouts while only giving up one run. In the Saturday game, it was Rohlman again who had a great day, hitting a home run and driving in three runs. The Seminoles put up a fight in Sunday’s game, but Clemson’s pitching held strong and the Tigers won 4-2. With these wins, Clemson secures their spot at the top of the ACC standings and continues their march towards an NCAA tournament berth.
Clemson vs. Louisville
Last night, the Clemson Tigers took on the Louisville Cardinals in what wassure to be an exciting game. The Cardinals have been a tough team to beat this season, but the Tigers were up for the challenge. Unfortunately, the game did not go as planned for Clemson.

The Clemson Tigers defeated the Louisville Cardinals by a score of 9-3. The Tigers were led by pitcher Mat Clark, who went six innings, giving up three runs on seven hits while striking out five. The offense was led by shortstop Jordan Greene, who had three hits, including a home run, and four RBIs. First baseman Chad Fairey and third baseman Dylan Brewer each had two hits as well.
Highlights
The Clemson Tigers defeated the Louisville Cardinals 5-4 in a thrilling come-from-behind victory on Sunday afternoon. The Tigers trailed 4-0 entering the bottom of the ninth inning, but rallied for five runs to pull out the win.
RELIEF STAR OF THE GAME: Andrew Cox came up big for the Tigers, pitching three scoreless innings of relief to earn the win. Cox entered the game in the seventh inning with Clemson trailing 4-0, and he proceeded to retire all nine batters he faced.
HITTING STAR OF THE GAME: Logan Davidson continued his torrid pace at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a double, a home run and two RBI. Davidson is now hitting .500 (14-for-28) with four doubles, four home runs and 13 RBI in seven games this season.
UP NEXT: The Tigers will return to action on Tuesday night, when they travel to Columbia to take on the South Carolina Gamecocks. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
