What We Learned from the NFL Season

Introduction
The 2020 NFL season is over, and it was a wild one. From the Kansas City Chiefs winning their second consecutive Super Bowl to the Los Angeles Rams making a surprise run to the playoffs, there was no shortage of storylines.
Now that the dust has settled, let’s take a look at what we learned from the 2020 NFL season.
First and foremost, we learned that the Chiefs are still the team to beat in the NFL. Led by Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes, they have one of the most talented rosters in the league and are poised to make another run at a title next season.
We also learned that the Rams are a team on the rise. Despite missing out on the playoffs, they were one of the most improved teams in the league and should be a force to be reckoned with in 2021.
On a less positive note, we learned that several teams are in need of serious rebuilding projects. The New York Jets, for example, finished with just two wins and fired head coach Adam Gase after just two seasons. The Houston Texans also had a disappointing year and fired head coach Bill O’Brien midway through the season. It’s clear that both of these teams have significant work to do if they want to compete for a playoff spot next season.
Finally, we learned that there is still no clear-cut favorite in the NFC East. The Philadelphia Eagles won the division with just an 8-8 record and will host a playoff game despite being one of the worst teams in the league. The Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants both had disappointing seasons but will have a chance to turn things around next year. And while they didn’t win the division, don’t count out the Washington Football Team – they could be dangerous if they can put everything together next season.

The Ugly
The 2017 NFL season was one for the history books. For the first time in nearly a decade, we had a team go undefeated from wire to wire. The Philadelphia Eagles looked unstoppable at times, while other teams like the Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots struggled to find their footing.
But as always, there were plenty of lessons to be learned from this season. Here are some of the biggest takeaways from the 2017 NFL season:
1. The importance of a strong offensive line: This was perhaps most evident in the Eagles’ case, as they had one of the best offensive lines in the league. It allowed them to not only protect their quarterback but also open up huge running lanes for their star running back, LeSean McCoy.
