baseball standings are the records of the simple win-loss performance of major league teams. The standings also reflect any ties that have occurred between two or more teams. baseball standings are overseen by the Major League Baseball organization, which is based in the United States.
American League
The American League of Major League Baseball (AL) is one of two leagues that make up the sport. It was founded in 1901 as part of the Western League, which itself had been founded in 1893. When the Western League renamed itself the American League in 1900, it claimed the heritage of the older league, which had been founded in 1876. With fifteen teams in two divisions, the AL is slightly larger than its counterpart, the National League (NL), which has fourteen teams.
The Baltimore Orioles, Boston Red Sox, Chicago White Sox, Cleveland Indians, Detroit Tigers, Houston Astros, Kansas City Royals, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Minnesota Twins, New York Yankees, Oakland Athletics, Seattle Mariners, Tampa Bay Rays and Texas Rangers make up the AL. Of these teams, all but three (the Angels, Mariners and Rays) are located in the eastern half of the United States; all three of those teams are located in states with a history of NL baseball (California: Angels; Washington: Mariners; Florida: Rays).
National League

In conclusion, it is still early in the season and a lot can change in the standings. However, based on the current standings, the Chicago Cubs are in first place in the NL Central, while the Milwaukee Brewers are in second place. The St. Louis Cardinals are in third place and the Pittsburgh Pirates are in fourth place.
