What’s the Schedule for the NFL?

Keep up with the NFL schedule for the 2019-2020 season.

Introduction

The National Football League (NFL) is a professional American football league consisting of 32 teams, divided equally between the National Football Conference (NFC) and the American Football Conference (AFC). The NFL is one of the four major professional sports leagues in North America, and the highest professional level of American football in the world.

NFL Schedule

The regular season of the National Football League (NFL) begins on the weekend following the last Thursday of September (i.e., the weekend after Labor Day in the United States). It ends on the weekend before the first Sunday of January. Playoffs are held in January and the Super Bowl is usually played on the first Sunday in February.

Pre-Season

Pre-season is a time for coaches to try out new players and give playing time to those who may not see as much action during the regular season. The pre-season schedule includes four games for each team, two at home and two away.

Regular Season

The National Football League (NFL) regular season begins on the weekend following the Labor Day holiday (the first Monday in September in the United States). From this weekend until the end of the season, each team plays 16 games, divided equally between home and away games.

Each team has one bye week during the season, meaning that they do not play that week. The bye week is typically scheduled at the midway point of the season (after Week 8), but can also be scheduled sooner or later, depending on a team’s needs.

The NFL playoffs begin in January, with Wild Card weekend (when the four lowest-seeded teams in each conference play each other). The divisional round follows, and then the conference championships. Finally, the two winners of the conference championships face off in the Super Bowl.

Post-Season

The NFL schedule for the 2020 post-season has been announced. The playoffs will begin on Wild Card weekend, Saturday, January 9th and Sunday, January 10th. The divisional playoffs will be Saturday, January 16th and Sunday, January 17th. The conference championships will be played on Sunday, January 24th. And the final game of the season, the Super Bowl, will be played on Sunday, February 7th.

Conclusion

The NFL regular season typically runs from September to December, with each team playing 16 games. The playoffs then take place in January, and the Super Bowl is played in February.
