Introduction
The Minnesota Twins are a professional baseball team based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Twins compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the American League (AL) Central division. The team is named after the Twin Cities area which includes the two adjoining cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul.
The franchise was founded in Washington, D.C. in 1901 as one of the eight original teams of the American League, but was officially known as the Washington Senators until 1960 when they moved to Minneapolis-St. Paul. The Twins played in Metropolitan Stadium from 1961 to 1981 and the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome from 1982 to 2009. They played their inaugural game at Target Field on April 12, 2010. Through 2019, the team has fielded 18 American League batting champions and 25 All-Star players

The starting pitchers were Michael Fulmer for the Tigers and Homer Bailey for the Twins. The game was a pitching duel through 3 innings, with each team scoring a run in the bottom of the 3rd. In the top of the 4th, Detroit’s catcher John Hicks hit a solo home run to give Detroit a 2-1 lead. Michael Fulmer then pitched a 1-2-3 bottom of the 4th inning. In the 5th inning, both teams went down in order. In the top of the 6th, Detroit scored 2 more runs on solo home runs by Harold Castro and Christin Stewart, making the score 4-1 in favor of Detroit.
