The history of Edge in WWE is one of the most decorated careers in professional wrestling. He is a former WWE Champion, Intercontinental Champion, and Tag Team Champion.
Edge’s Debut in WWE

Adam Copeland is a Canadian actor, podcaster, and retired professional wrestler. He is best known for his time with the American professional wrestling promotion WWE, where he performed under the ring name Edge.
Edge debuted in WWE (then World Wrestling Federation, WWF) in 1996. He gained early notoriety as part of a tag team with his real-life friend Christian. Together they gained popularity as a tag team known as The Brood, and won their first tag team championship at WrestleMania XV in 1999. They went on to hold the titles three more times before disbanding in 2001. Over the next five years, Edge won 11 singles titles, including five WWE Championships, four World Heavyweight Championships, and one Intercontinental Championship. He also won the King of the Ring tournament in 2001 and was the first Money in the Bank ladder match winner in 2005. In addition to these accomplishments, he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2012.

Edge’s WWE World Heavyweight Championship reign began on July 23, 2007, when he won a WWE Championship Scramble match at The Great American Bash. This made him a nine-time world champion, equaling Ric Flair’s record. He held the title until October 7, when he was defeated by CM Punk at No Mercy.
Edge’s Retirement from WWE
On April 11, 2011, Edge announced his retirement from WWE due to a neck injury. This was a big shock to the WWE Universe, as Edge was still an active member of the roster at the time. He had to vacate the World Heavyweight Championship and was replaced in a match at WrestleMania 27 by Alberto Del Rio.

Edge’s final WWE match took place on April 11, 2011, at WrestleMania XXVII, where he faced Alberto Del Rio in a World Heavyweight Championship steel cage match. Edge won the match, but was forced to retire due to the injuries he had sustained during his career.

After a short stint in WWE’s ECW brand, Edge was drafted to the SmackDown brand in 2004, where he won the WWE Tag Team Championship with Hollywood Hulk Hogan.
