It’s never too early to start thinking about the next NBA 2K release! Here’s everything we know about NBA 2K22 so far, including the release date, features, and more.
When is the release date?
The release date for NBA 2K22 has not been announced yet, but the game is expected to come out in late September or early October 2021. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
What platforms will it be available on?
According to the announcement, NBA 2K22 will be available for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Google Stadia, and Nintendo Switch upon its release. No specific release date was given, but the game is set to launch sometime in fall 2021.
Which players will be on the cover?
This is yet to be announced, but in the past, NBA 2K has usually released its game in September. We expect NBA 2K22 to follow suit and release around the same time this year. As soon as we have an official release date, we’ll be sure to let you know.
In the meantime, there are a few things we do know about NBA 2K22. For one, Zion Williamson will almost certainly be on the cover. He was recently revealed as a pre-order bonus character for MyTeam mode, which all but confirms his spot on the cover.
We also know that a number of legendary players will be appearing in the game as part of the “Legends Edition” of NBA 2K22. So far, we know that Scottie Pippen, Jerry West, Wilt Chamberlain, Cheryl Miller and Yao Ming will all be appearing in the game. It’s possible that more legends will be announced closer to release.
What new features will be included?
We are still waiting on an official announcement from 2K about what new features will be included in NBA 2K22, but we can make some educated guesses based on past releases. One of the most likely additions is an update to the MyCareer mode, which could include a new story or additional gameplay options. We might also see some changes to the create-a-player mode, as well as updates to the online multiplayer modes. Of course, we will have to wait for an official announcement from 2K before we know for sure what will be included.
What is the price?
The price has not been announced yet, but it is expected to be around $60.
