When Does Day Three Of The NFL Draft Start?

The NFL Draft continues on Friday with rounds 4-7. Here’s everything you need to know about when it starts and how to watch.

Introduction

The National Football League Draft is an annual event in which teams from the National Football League (NFL) select college football players to join their organization. The draft is typically held in late April or early May, and it is widely considered to be one of the most important events in the NFL offseason.

This year, the draft will take place from April 29-May 1. The first two days will consist of rounds one and two, while day three will feature rounds four through seven.

If you’re interested in following along with this year’s draft, here is everything you need to know about day three.

The First Round

This year’s NFL Draft will be held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from April 27-29. The first round will take place on Thursday, April 27th at 8:00 p.m. EST. The second and third rounds will be held on Friday, April 28th at 7:00 p.m. EST, and the fourth through seventh rounds will be held on Saturday, April 29th at noon EST.

This three-day event will be televised live on ESPN and NFL Network.

The Second Round

The second and third rounds of the NFL Draft will take place on Friday, April 27, beginning at 7 p.m. CT. The second round consists of 33 selections, with the draft order reversing each round. So, the team with the 32nd pick in the first round will have the first pick in the second round (64th overall), while the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs will make their first selection at No. 63 overall.

The Third Round

The third round of the NFL draft will start at 7 p.m. ET on Friday, April 27. The draft will continue through Saturday, April 28.

The first round of the draft will take place on Thursday, April 26 at 8 p.m. ET. The second and third rounds will take place on Friday, April 27 at 7 p.m. ET. Rounds 4-7 of the draft will take place on Saturday, April 28 at 12 p.m. ET

The Fourth Round

The fourth round of the draft order is determined by the reverse order of the previous year’s standings, with the teams that made the playoffs picking last and the Super Bowl winner picking 32nd. From there, the order proceeds in a snake pattern — meaning the team that picks first in Round 4 will pick last in Round 5, and so on.

The Fifth Round

The fifth round of the NFL draft usually starts on the third day of the NFL draft. The fifth round is when teams start to draft players who they think have the potential to be backups or special teams players.

The Sixth Round

The sixth round of the NFL draft will start on Saturday, April 27 at 12 p.m. ET. The draft will be televised on ESPN, NFL Network and ABC.

There are 256 picks in the NFL draft, and the sixth round consists of picks No. 197 through No. 252. The final pick of the round is known as “Mr. Irrelevant,” and that player will receive a number of perks, including an invitation to Irrelevant Week, which is an annual celebration in Orange County, California.

Last year’s Mr. Irrelevant was wide receiver Keenan Reynolds from Navy. He was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens with the 252nd overall pick.

The Seventh Round

The final day of the NFL draft is much shorter than the first two, but it still gives teams a chance to add some quality depth to their rosters. The seventh round is where many of the Mr. Irrelevants are selected, but there have been a few notable players taken in this round as well.
