The Vanderbilt Commodores baseball team represents Vanderbilt University in NCAA Division I college baseball. The team is a member of the Southeastern Conference and plays its home games at Hawkins Field on the university’s Nashville, Tennessee campus. As of 2019, Vanderbilt has appeared in 14 NCAA Tournaments, winning five SEC tournament championships. The Commodores have also played in seven College World Series, appearing in the finals three times. They have had 31 players named first-team All-American, and nine Baseball Hall of Fame alumni. Pitching coach Scott Brown was named national Pitching Coach of the Year three times by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper. Clark Lea is currently the head coach.

Vanderbilt has won five SEC regular season titles and 13 SEC tournament titles. The Commodores have made 17 NCAA Regionals, six NCAA Super Regionals, and have been to the College World Series seven times, including two championship game appearances in 2014 and 2015. Vanderbilt has also had 31 Major League Baseball Draft selections, including four first-round picks: Mike Minor, David Price, Sonny Gray, and Dansby Swanson.

Overall

The Vanderbilt Commodores baseball team is an American National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) college baseball team, and a former Division I SEC team. The program has been in existence since 1886, and has won five national championships. Vanderbilt also played in the final game of the 2007 College World Series, losing to runner-up UCLA. The team participates in the Eastern division of the NCAA’s SEC Conference. They are currently coached by Tim Corbin.

The Commodores play their home games at Hawkins Field on the school’s Nashville, Tennessee campus. Hawkins Field is considered one of college baseball’s best venues. It opened in 2002 and is named after Jack Hawkins, a longtime supporter of Commodore baseball who first donated money for renovations to Dudley Field back in 1987 before it became Hawkins Field in 2002.

SEC

Vanderbilt’s first season in the SEC was in 2013, and the Commodores have been one of the most successful programs in the conference since. Vanderbilt has won the SEC regular season title four times (2013, 2014, 2015, 2019) and the SEC tournament three times (2015, 2016, 2019). The Commodores have made the NCAA tournament in every season since 2013, and they have advanced to the College World Series six times in that span, winning it all in 2014.

Parking and Directions

Vanderbilt Baseball plays its home games on campus at Vanderbilt Baseball Field, located on the southwest corner of 25th Avenue South and Natchez Trace. The main entrance to the ballpark is on Natchez Trace.

Parking

The general public can park in the garage on a first-come, first-served basis for all home games. The rates are $10 for cars and $20 for RVs. You can also park in the commuter lot for $5.
