Bayley’s WWE Career

Bayley is a professional wrestler who is currently signed to WWE. She is a former NXT Women’s Champion and a two-time Raw Women’s Champion. Bayley is currently on hiatus from WWE due to an injury.

Bayley’s first run in NXT

Bayley made her debut on the July 15, 2015, episode of NXT, where she defeated Carmella. She then started a feud with Eva Marie, which culminated in a match between the two at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn, which Bayley won. Bayley then became involved in a romantic storyline with Finn Bálor. The two had a mixed tag team match at NXT TakeOver: Respect, which they won. This led to a falls count anywhere match at NXT TakeOver: London, in which Bálor retained the NXT Championship after defeating Bayley.

In January 2016, it was reported that Bayley had suffered an injury and would be out of action for an unknown period of time. She returned to television on the May 11 episode of NXT, losing to Carmella. Bayley next competed at NXT TakeOver: The End… Against All Odds on June 8, defeating Nia Jax to become the number one contender for the NXT Women’s Championship. At NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn II on August 20, Bayley defeated Asuka to win the NXT Women’s Championship for the first time.

After losing the title to Asuka at NXT TakeOver: Dallas on April 1st 2016 via submission, Bayley regained the title from Asuka in a rematch at NXT Takeover: The End… On May 20th 2016. This marked her second victory over Asuka and made her a record 2-time champion. After losing the title again to Asuka at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn II on August 20th via knockout, she failed to regain it in their third and final match-up at NXTakeover: Toronto on November 19th, after being distracted by Billie Kay and Peyton Royce of The Iconic Duo (now known as IIconics).

In early 2017, after being moved back to WWE’s main roster as part of the 2017 Superstar Shake-up, Bayley began teaming up with RAW General Manager Kurt Angle in various tag team matches against Samoa Joe and The Miz.

Bayley’s time on the main roster

Bayley made her main roster debut on the August 29, 2016, episode of Raw, defeating Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks in a triple threat match to become the number one contender for the Raw Women’s Championship, thus setting up a title match between her and then-champion Banks at the Clash of Champions pay-per-view event later that month, which Bayley won to capture her first Raw Women’s Championship. On the October 3 episode of Raw, after Bayley had successfully defended her title against Banks and Flair in a triple threat Elimination Chamber match at the inaugural WWE No Mercy event, she was then defeated by Flair in a singles match to end her reign at 42 days.

At the Hell in a Cell event on October 30, Bayley challenged Flair for the title again, but was unsuccessful. Two weeks later on Raw, Bayley competed in another Fatal Four-Way match for a chance to challenge Flair for the title at Survivor Series; however, she was unsuccessful once again.

On November 20 at the Survivor Series kickoff show, Bayley defeated Empress to become the final member of Team Raw’s women’s Survivor Series team. Later that night at Survivor Series itself, Team Raw (which also consisted of Alicia Fox, Nia Jax and Asuka) defeated Team SmackDown in a 5-on-5 women’s traditional elimination tag team match. During the match itself, she was eliminated third by Becky Lynch.

At TLC: Tables Ladders & Chairs on December 4, Bayley failed to win back theRaw Women’s Championship from Charlotte Flair in a Tables match. The following night on Raw Talk Bayley said that she wanted one more chance against Flair for the title to end their feud once and for all as she felt that their matches had “gotten personal”. This led to a rematch between them two nights later on Raw which Bayley lost.
