Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

On October 9, 2016, NBA Youngboy was arrested and charged with two counts of attempted first degree murder. The charges stemmed from a drive-by shooting that occurred in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on April 27, 2016. In September 2017, NBA Youngboy pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated assault with a firearm and was sentenced to 10 years in prison. However, he was released on parole in March 2018 after serving less than a year of his sentence.

In May 2019, NBA Youngboy was arrested again and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. This charge stems from an incident that occurred on April 3, 2019, when police responded to a report of shots fired at a Miami Beach hotel.
