The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced today the 2021 Hall of Fame Class, which includes 10 individuals who have contributed to the game of basketball in exceptional ways.
The National Basketball Association (NBA) Hall of Fame is an American history museum and hall of fame, located at Springfield, Massachusetts. The museum commemorates the history of the National Basketball Association (NBA), as well as the players and coaches who have been inducted into the Hall of Fame.
The Hall of Fame was established in 1959 by the Professional Basketball Writers Association, and it was subsequently enshrined in 1968. The NBA Hall of Fame currently has 307 members: players, head coaches, assistant coaches, contributors, and referees.
The History of the NBA Hall of Fame

In 2021, the Hall of Fame will celebrate its 62nd anniversary. The Class of 2021will be formally inducted on September 10th. The precise location of the event has not yet been announced, but it is typically held in Springfield, Massachusetts – the birthplace of basketball.

The 2021 NBA Hall of Fame class will be announced on Saturday, May 15, during Countdown to the NBA Awards on TNT. This year’s ceremony will be held at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts on Sunday, September 12.
The list of finalists for the 2021 Hall of Fame class includes: Bill Russell, Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett and Tamika Catchings.

The 2021 class of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame includes nine new members: Starting Five — Chris Bosh, Yao Ming, Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett and Tamika Catchings; Coaches — Eddie Sutton and Rick Pitino; Contributors — Dr. Cathy Engelbert and Patrick Baumann.
The Class of 2021 will be enshrined during the Enshrinement Ceremony on Saturday, September 11th in Springfield, Massachusetts.
The final decision on whether or not to induct anyone into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame is made at the Hall of Fame Board of Trustees meeting, which is typically held in the months of September or October. This year, the meeting will be held virtually on Saturday, October 31st. So, we should know by then who will be part of the NBA Hall of Fame 2021 class.
