Since July 1999, the Mariners’ home ballpark has been T-Mobile Park, located in the SoDo neighborhood of Seattle.

The “Mariners” name originates from the prominence of marine culture in the city of Seattle. They are nicknamed the M’s, a title featured in their primary logo from 1987 to 1992. Their mascot is the Mariner Moose.

As of 2019, the Mariners are one of three MLB teams who have never won a World Series championship, along with the San Diego Padres and Washington Nationals (formerly Montreal Expos). One hundred thirty-six players have worn the Mariners’ uniform since 1977; among those, Edgar Martinez, John Olerud and Ichiro Suzuki have spent their entire Major League careers with Seattle while Ken Griffey Jr., Randy Johnson and Felix Hernandez each spent more than ten years with the team
