The Seattle Mariners are an American professional baseball team based in Seattle, Washington. The Mariners compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the American League (AL) West division. The team joined the AL as an expansion team in 1977. Since July 1999, the Mariners’ home ballpark has been T-Mobile Park, located in the SoDo neighborhood of Seattle.
The “Mariners” name originates from the prominence of marine culture in the city of Seattle. They are nicknamed the M’s, a title featured in their primary logo from 1987 to 1992. Their mascot is the Mariner Moose.
As of 2019, the Mariners are one of three MLB teams who have never won a World Series championship, along with the San Diego Padres and Washington Nationals (formerly Montreal Expos). One hundred thirty-six players have worn the Mariners’ uniform since 1977; among those, Edgar Martinez, John Olerud and Ichiro Suzuki have spent their entire Major League careers with Seattle while Ken Griffey Jr., Randy Johnson and Felix Hernandez each spent more than ten years with the team

The fans are incredible, they really are. The city comes alive when the Mariners are in town and everyone is so supportive. It’s infectious, you can’t help but get caught up in it all. The atmosphere is electric and the fans are really knowledgeable about the game.
