The NHL season is finally over and the playoffs are in full swing. It’s been a long and grueling regular season, but the wait is finally over. Now, it’s time to sit back and enjoy some of the best hockey of the year.

The Stanley Cup playoffs are a best-of-seven tournament held after the end of the National Hockey League’s (NHL) regular season to determine the league champion and the winner of the Stanley Cup.
All 16 teams in the two conferences qualify for the playoffs. The playoff bracket is structured so that the four division winners in each conference are seeded first and second, and the next two highest-ranked teams in each conference are seeded third and fourth. These seeds are used to determine home-ice advantage in each series.
The first two rounds of the playoffs (the conference quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals) are played between division winners and qualifier winners and are known as intraconference play.
