The NFL Draft is a seven-round process, with each team getting one pick in each of the first six rounds and then two picks in the seventh round. The order of picks in each round is determined by the previous season’s order of finish, with the team that finished last getting the first pick in each round (the so-called “first overall pick”) and the Super Bowl winner getting the last pick in each round (32nd overall).

The order for the second and third rounds is identical to the order used in the first round, with the only difference being that teams that had losing records in the previous season pick ahead of teams with winning records.

As was the case with the first round, teams will have seven minutes to make their selection in the second and third rounds. If a team fails to make its pick within that seven-minute window, it will forfeit its selection for that particular round.

Eligible players for the 2019 NFL Draft include those who have been out of high school for at least three years and have used up their college eligibility, or those who graduated from high school early and have been out of high school for at least three years.

The second and third rounds of the 2020 NFL Draft will take place on Friday, April 24. The draft will resume at 7 p.m. EDT on ESPN, ABC and the NFL Network.
