Can’t seem to find where you can watch the NBA? There are a few great places that show the games online for free.
TV Options
If you want to watch NBA basketball games, you have several TV options. You can watch games on ESPN, TNT, or NBA TV. You can also watch games on your local TV station if they are broadcasting the game.
National
There are several ways to watch the NBA nationally. You can watch games on ESPN, TNT, and NBA TV. You can also stream games on the NBA League Pass.
Local
Your local options for NBA games will depend on your region and whether you have cable.
If you live in the U.S., TNT and ESPN will show the most games throughout the regular season and the playoffs. TNT will air its popular Thursday night doubleheader, as well as a number of marquee matchups on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. ESPN will televise its weekly Wednesday doubleheader, as well as NBA action on Friday nights.
If you live in Canada, NBA TV Canada will be your best bet for catching every game from start to finish. You can also catch games on TSN and Sportsnet.

Finally, if you don’t mind spoilers, you can always check out highlights of games on YouTube or other video sharing sites.

NBA TV
NBA TV is a television specialty channel that is owned by the National Basketball Association (NBA) and operated by Turner Broadcasting. Dedicated to basketball, the network features exhibition, regular season and postseason game telecasts from the NBA and related professional basketball leagues, as well as NBA-related content including analysis programs, specials and documentaries.
The network is available to most cable and satellite providers in the United States and Canada; where it is bundled with Turner’s other cable networks.NBA TV originally launched on March 17, 1999 as part of a joint venture between Time Warner’s Turner Broadcasting System (which owned the channel) and Liberty Media (which operated it); the two companies jointly controlled NBA TV until Liberty finally relinquished its operating stake in the summer of 2008 in order for Comcast to assume majority ownership of the channel as part of its then-pending acquisition of a majority stake in NBC Universal (in which Turner Broadcasting was also a minority shareholder).
ESPN
ESPN is a U.S.-based global cable and satellite sports television channel owned by ESPN Inc., a joint venture between The Walt Disney Company (which owns a controlling 80% stake) and Hearst Communications (which owns the remaining 20%).
ESPN broadcasts primarily from studio facilities located in Bristol, Connecticut. The network also operates offices in Miami, New York City, Seattle, Charlotte, and Los Angeles. James Pitaro currently serves as chairman of ESPN, a position he has held since March 5, 2018.
The company was founded in 1979 by Bill Rasmussen along with his son Scott Rasmussen and Ed Egan.
TNT
TNT is Turner Network Television. Turner Broadcasting System is the television network’s parent company. TNT airs many programs, but is perhaps best known for its NBA coverage. The channel has aired NBA games since 1988.
TNT airs select live games on Thursday and Friday nights, as well as a live doubleheader on Tuesday nights. On Fridays during the regular season, TNT also airs a live game at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time (5:00 p.m. Pacific Time).
In addition to regular season games, TNT also airs the NBA All-Star Game, the play-offs, and the conference finals.
