Rounds 4-7: Saturday, May 1, Noon ET
The 2021 NFL draft will span three days and Wallethub analyst Jill Gonzales says that, in contrast to last year’s event, which was largely digital, “This year’s draft will be held in-person in Cleveland, Ohio.”
The first round will take place on Thursday, April 29 at 8 p.m. ET. Rounds 2 and 3 will be on Friday, April 30 at 7 p.m. ET. And rounds 4 through 7 will be on Saturday, May 1 at Noon ET.

ESPN will have live coverage of all three days of the NFL Draft. NFL Network will also have live coverage, but it will be tape-delayed by one hour.

The first NFL Draft was held on February 8, 1936, at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Philadelphia. Seventy players were drafted by the NFL’s then-nine teams. The first NFL Draft was featured in the April 1936 issue of Smithsonian Magazine. Notre Dame’s Jay Berwanger was the first player ever drafted into the NFL. He was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles with the first overall pick, but he never played a single game in the NFL because he couldn’t come to terms with the team on a contract.
