The 2021 NHL All-Star game will be held in Sunrise, Florida at the BB&T Center on January 29-30, 2021. This marks the first time that the NHL All-Star game will be held in the state of Florida.

United States

The format of all three games in the tournament will be three-on-three, with 10 minutes of play followed by a four-minute break. This is a change from last year’s format where the game was divided into two 20 minute halves with intermissions. This is also different from the original format used from 1947 to 1968 where each team played two 30 minute halves with intermissions.

Each team will consist of 11 players: six forwards, three defensemen and two goaltenders. The rosters for each team will be selected through a combination of fan voting (introduced in 1981), player voting (introduced in 2001) and NHL hockey operations staff.

As previously announced, John Scott will captain the Pacific Division All-Star team after he was voted in by the fans as a write-in candidate for the position.
