Riot Games co-founder Marc Merrill added: “Our goal has always been to make League of Legends the most watched sport in the world. Today’s announcement is another step towards that ultimate ambition.”
The League of Legends Championship Series is entering its sixth season, and it features ten teams from across North America competing in regular season matches followed by playoffs. The winning team will represent North America at the annual World Championship event.
