The 2022 NFL Draft will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Raiders new home, Allegiant Stadium.
The NFL Draft is moving
The NFL Draft is moving to Las Vegas in 2022, and it’s staying there through 2024.
The league announced the news Wednesday, confirming a report from earlier this month that the Draft would be headed to Sin City.
“The added element of bringing the NFL Draft experience to fans in person in Las Vegas will only amplify the excitement and deepen engagement with our most important group of followers – NFL fans,” Commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement.
The three-day event will be held at the new home of the Raiders, Allegiant Stadium, which is set to open this fall. It will be the first time the Draft has been held in Las Vegas.
“Las Vegas is one of America’s great sports towns, and we are thrilled to partner with Allegiant Stadium and the Raiders to showcase our event,” Goodell said. “We are looking forward to working with Allegiant Stadium’s leadership team on a transformational Draft experience for our fans.”
The 2021 NFL Draft is currently scheduled for April 29-May 1 in Cleveland. The 2022 Draft will be held April 28-30 in Las Vegas, with the 2023 and 2024 events also taking place in Sin City.
Why the NFL Draft is moving
It’s official. The NFL Draft is moving to Cleveland in 2021, and then Kansas City in 2022. Why the NFL Draft is moving around so much?
It used to be that the NFL Draft was held in New York City every year. But in 2015, the league announced that the event would move to Chicago for two years (2016 and 2017), then to Philadelphia (2017), then Dallas (2018), then back to Nashville (2019), then Las Vegas (2020), then Cleveland (2021) and Kansas City (2022).
The main reason for all this moving around is simply that the NFL wants to make the draft a bigger event, and holding it in a different city each year helps achieve that goal. Moving the draft also allows the league to generate more revenue, as cities are willing to pay big bucks for the right to host such a high-profile event.
So if you’re planning on attending the 2022 NFL Draft, be sure to mark your calendar for April 27-29. And if you’re not sure which city that will be held in yet, don’t worry – we’re sure they’ll announce it soon enough!
Where the NFL Draft is moving
The 2022 NFL Draft is moving to Cleveland, Ohio. This will be the first time the city has hosted the NFL Draft since its inception in 1936. The event is scheduled to take place from April 28-30, 2022.
Cleveland was chosen as the host city over a number of other cities that were considered, including New York City, Los Angeles, and Chicago. The NFL decided to move the draft to Cleveland in order to generate more interest in the event and to give back to a city that has supported the league for many years.
The 2022 NFL Draft will be a historic event, and it is sure to be an exciting weekend for all football fans. If you’re planning on attending, be sure to start making your plans now.
