There are three Antetokounmpo brothers in the NBA. They are Giannis, Kostas, and Thanasis. Giannis is the oldest and most successful of the three. He is a two-time NBA MVP and an All-Star. Kostas is the middle child and he plays for the Los Angeles Lakers. Thanasis is the youngest and he plays for the New York Knicks.

Kostas Antetokounmpo

Kostas Antetokounmpo (Greek: Κώστας Αντετοκούνμπο; born November 20, 1997) is a Greek professional basketball player for the Dallas Mavericks of the National Basketball Association (NBA), on a two-way contract with the Mavericks and their NBA G League affiliate, the Texas Legends. He played college basketball for the University of Dayton. He is the younger brother of Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo.

In his freshman season at Dayton, Kostas averaged 5.2 points and 3.9 rebounds per game. As a sophomore, he saw his playing time increase to 17.2 minutes per game, and he averaged 5.1 points and 3.6 rebounds per game.

In his junior season, Kostas averaged 9.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game, while shooting 53 percent from the field and 35 percent from three-point range. He was named to the All-Atlantic 10 third team after the season.

As a senior, Kostas averaged 11 points and 6 rebounds per game while shooting 48 percent from the field and 30 percent from three-point range. He was again named to the All-Atlantic 10 third team after the season.

Kostas entered his name into the 2019 NBA draft but did not hire an agent, leaving open the possibility of returning to college for his senior year. He ultimately decided to remain in the draft and was not selected by an NBA team; he later joined Dallas’ summer league team in July 2019 before signing a two-way contract with them on July 25, 2019

Giannis Antetokounmpo

Giannis Antetokounmpo was born in Athens, Greece, to Nigerian parents, Charles and Veronica. He has four brothers: Francis, Thanasis, Kostas, and Alex. All four have played professional basketball.

Giannis started playing for the Greek club Filathlitikos B.C. in 2009. He was drafted into the NBA in 2013 by the Milwaukee Bucks. Giannis is a two-time NBA All-Star and was named the NBA Most Valuable Player in 2019.

In 2020, Giannis signed a contract extension with the Bucks worth $228 million over five years. He is currently the highest-paid player in the NBA.

Kostas Antetokounmpo, the youngest of the three Antetokounmpo brothers, was born in Greece in 1997. He is 6’10” and plays power forward for the Los Angeles Lakers. Kostas was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers in the second round of the 2018 NBA draft but was immediately traded to the Dallas Mavericks. He only played in one game for the Mavericks before being waived. Kostas was then signed by the Lakers and spent most of his rookie season with their G League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers.

In July 2019, Kostas signed a two-year deal with the Lakers. He saw limited action during his first season with the team, averaging 1.8 points and 1.5 rebounds in 9.2 minutes per game. However, he played a bigger role during the 2020 NBA playoffs, averaging 5.2 points and 2.8 rebounds in 12 minutes per game as the Lakers won the championship. Kostas’s older brothers Giannis and Thanasis both also play in the NBA; Giannis is a star player for the Milwaukee Bucks while Thanasis is a role player for the New York Knicks.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, nicknamed the “Greek Freak”, is a Greek professional basketball player for the Milwaukee Bucks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He stands at 6 ft 11 in (2.11 m) tall and plays at the small forward and power forward positions. He is the Bucks’ leading scorer and rebounder, and also the team’s primary playmaker and ball handler. He is one of the best players in the NBA, and has been selected to five All-Star teams, four All-NBA teams, and four NBA Defensive Teams. In 2020, he was named the NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP).

Born in Athens, Giannis began playing basketball professionally at age 18 when he signed with Spanish club Filathlitikos B.C.. In 2013, he was drafted by the Bucks with the 15th overall pick in the first round of the NBA draft. Giannis immediately became a regular starter on a young Bucks team, and his breakout came in his second season when he led the team in scoring, rebounding and blocked shots. He made his first All-Star Game appearance in 2016, and helped lead Milwaukee to its first playoff appearance since 2010. The following season, he was named an All-Star starter for the first time and earned his first All-NBA selection. In 2018–19, Antetokounmpo became just the seventh player in NBA history to win both Most Improved Player and Defensive Player of The Year awards in the same season; he also led Milwaukee to their best regular season record since 1980–81 en route to being named MVP for 2019–20.
