Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics have the most championships in the NBA with 17. The Los Angeles Lakers are second with 16, and the Chicago Bulls are third with 6.
Los Angeles Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers are an American professional basketball team based in Los Angeles. The Lakers compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Western Conference Pacific Division. The Lakers play their home games at Staples Center, an arena shared with the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers and NHL’s Los Angeles Kings. The Lakers are one of the most successful teams in the history of the NBA, having won 16 NBA championships, their last being in 2010.
San Antonio Spurs
The San Antonio Spurs have won 5 championships in their history, most recently in 2014. They are tied with the Golden State Warriors for the 4th most championships in NBA history.
Golden State Warriors
The Golden State Warriors are an American professional basketball team based in San Francisco. The Warriors compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Western Conference Pacific Division. Founded in 1946 in Philadelphia, the Warriors relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1962 and took the city’s name, before changing its geographic moniker to Golden State in 1971. They play their home games at the Chase Center.
The Warriors won the NBA Finals in 1947, 1956, 1975, 2015, 2017, and 2018. With their six titles, the Warriors are tied with the Chicago Bulls for fourth-most in NBA history behind only the Boston Celtics (17), Los Angeles Lakers (16), and San Antonio Spurs (5). Four Warrior players have won the NBA Most Valuable Player Award for a total of eight awards; Stephen Curry has won three MVP Awards while playing with Golden State, second only to Bill Russell’s record of 11 MVP Awards with the Celtics. Wilt Chamberlain and Rick Barry have each won two MVP Awards while playing for Golden State; Chamberlain was one of four Warriors players who were part of all three championship teams in Philadelphia between 1956 and 1968.
The Warriors hold several all-time NBA records: they are the only team to have ever won more than 70 games in a single season; they have recorded more regular season wins than any other team; they own an active streak of 127 consecutive sold-out home games at Oracle Arena, which began on December 15, 2012;[1][2] and they have appeared in five straight NBA Finals between 2015 and 2019 – a feat that has only been accomplished by four other teams since 1947 – those teams being themselves, as well as the Boston Celtics from 1957 to 1966 followed by three straight appearances from 1984 to 1987,[3] Los Angeles Lakers from 1982 to 1985,[4] and Miami Heat from 2011 to 2014.[5]
