NFL career

Peyton Manning was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts as the first overall pick in the 1998 NFL Draft. From 1998 to 2010, he played for the Colts. In March 2012, Manning was released by the Colts as they decided to rebuild with Andrew Luck. Manning then signed a five-year, $96 million contract with the Denver Broncos. He played for the Broncos from 2012 until his retirement in 2015.

In his 17 seasons in the NFL, Manning led his team to 13 Divisional championships, 11 Conference championships, and 2 Super Bowl titles while setting numerous NFL records.

Considered to be one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time due to his numerous career achievements, he spent 14 seasons with the Colts and was a member of the Denver Broncos in his final four seasons. Manning is the NFL’s all-time leader in passing yards and touchdown passes. He also holds NFL single-season records for touchdown passes and passing yards. During his 18 NFL seasons, Manning won five MVP awards, was selected to 14 Pro Bowls, and led his teams to two Super Bowl victories.

In March 2016, amid much media speculation, Manning announced his retirement from professional football.His final game was Super Bowl 50 on February 7, 2016, in which he helped lead the Broncos to a 24–10 victory over the Carolina Panthers, earning him his second Super Bowl ring and himself Super Bowl MVP honors for a record fifth time. In doing so, he became only one of five players ever to win both a regular season MVP award and a Super Bowl MVP award multiple times; he is also the most recent player as of 2019 to have won both awards in the same year (Super Bowl XLI following the 2006 season).

During his playing career, Manning frequently dared opposing defenses to intercept his passes—a taunting strategy known as “The Omaha Challenge.” As such, it is not surprising that he has thrown more interceptions than any other quarterback in NFL history.

Brett Favre started his NFL career with the Atlanta Falcons in 1991. He was then traded to the Green Bay Packers in 1992. Eli Manning was drafted as the first overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft by the San Diego Chargers, but was immediately traded to the New York Giants for fellow rookie Philip Rivers and three draft picks. Tom Brady was drafted by the New England Patriots in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL Draft. He served as the backup quarterback to Drew Bledsoe during his rookie season, and took over as the starter after Bledsoe was injured in a Week 2 game against the New York Jets. As the Patriots’ starter, Brady led the team to a 13-3 record and an appearance in Super Bowl XXXVI, where they defeated the St. Louis Rams 20-17 to win their first championship.

In his second season as starter, Brady continued to improve, leading the Patriots to a 12-4 record and another Super Bowl appearance. They lost 32-29 to the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl XXXVIII, but Brady was named Super Bowl MVP for his performance.

Brees has continued to be one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL over the past few years. In 2009, he set the record for most passing yards in a single season, with 5,476 yards. He also set a new NFL record for most completions in a season, with 468.

Brees has been selected to eleven Pro Bowls, and has been named first-team All-Pro six times. He is also a two-time NFL Offensive Player of the Year.
