Tom Brady may have only played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for two seasons, but he’s already made his mark on the franchise. After leading the team to a Super Bowl victory in 2020, Brady was rewarded with a two-year contract extension that will keep him in Tampa Bay through the 2022 season.
This extension is well deserved, as Brady has proved himself to be worth every penny of his $25 million per year salary. In his two seasons with the Buccaneers, Brady has thrown for 7,825 yards and 57 touchdowns, while leading the team to a 26-9 record. He’s also shown himself to be a leader both on and off the field, helping to mentor young players like wide receiver Chris Godwin.
With Brady’s contract extension, the Buccaneers have made it clear that they believe he is the franchise quarterback they’ve been searching for since Brad Johnson won them their last Super Bowl in 2002. If Brady can continue to play at a high level for two more seasons, he will go down as one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history.
