Which NFL Quarterback Has the Most Wins?
We all know that NFL quarterbacks are some of the most important players on the field. But which ones are the most successful? In this blog post, we’ll take a look at which NFL quarterbacks have the most wins under their belts.
Tom Brady
As of the 2019 season, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has the most wins of any NFL quarterback with 250 regular season and playoff victories combined. Brady has played in nine Super Bowls, winning six of them, and he is the only player in NFL history to have won five Super Bowls with the same team.
Peyton Manning
This may come as a surprise to some, but when it comes to NFL quarterbacks, Peyton Manning holds the record for the most wins in NFL history. That’s right, the five-time NFL MVP and two-time Super Bowl champion has more wins than any other signal caller in NFL history, with an impressive 186 regular season victories.
Manning’s career began with the Indianapolis Colts in 1998, and he would go on to play for the franchise for 14 seasons. In that time, Manning would lead the Colts to 11 playoff appearances, two AFC Championships, and of course, Super Bowl XLI. After his time with the Colts came to an end, Manning would sign with the Denver Broncos in 2012.
In his four seasons with Denver, Manning would once again find success. He would win an incredible55 regular season games with the Broncos, en route to four more playoff appearances and one more Super Bowl victory (Super Bowl 50). In total, Manning won an impressive 71% of his games as a member of the Broncos before announcing his retirement in 2016.
Including playoffs, Peyton Manning finished his illustrious career with a record of 200 wins and just 93 losses – a winning percentage of 68%. There are currently four active quarterbacks who have a chance to surpass Manning’s win total: Tom Brady (188), Drew Brees (179), Ben Roethlisberger (169), and Eli Manning (162). However, it will be tough for any of them to catch Peyton’s record-setting mark of 186 regular season victories.
Drew Brees
As of the 2019 season, Drew Brees has the most regular season and postseason wins of any quarterback in NFL history. He has led the New Orleans Saints to nine playoff appearances, and they won the Super Bowl in 2010.
Brett Favre
Brett Favre is a former American football quarterback who spent the majority of his career with the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL). He also briefly played for the New York Jets and Minnesota Vikings. After a stellar college football career at Southern Mississippi, Favre was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in 1991 but was immediately traded to Green Bay. He became the Packers’ starting quarterback in 1992 and led them to eight NFC Central championships, five NFC Championship Games, and two Super Bowls. In 2007, he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Favre’s NFL regular season career winning percentage is .606 (169 wins, 109 losses), and including playoff games, his overall winning percentage is .607 (186 wins, 121 losses). Among quarterbacks who have attempted at least 1,500 passes in their NFL career, only five have a higher win percentage than Favre: Tom Brady (.726), Peyton Manning (.700), Drew Brees (.674), Russell Wilson (.665) and Aaron Rodgers (.658).
