Which NFL Team Has Never Been to the Super Bowl?

The Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills have never been to the Super Bowl. They have been to the conference championship game four times, but have never made it to the big game.

The Cincinnati Bengals

While there are a few teams that have never been to the Super Bowl, the Cincinnati Bengals are the only team in the NFL that has never even made it to the big game. The Bengals were founded in 1968 as an expansion team, and they have only won two playoff games in their entire history.

The Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns have never been to the Super Bowl. They have been to the playoffs 20 times and have won 14 conference championships, but they have never made it to the big game. The Browns have had some great players over the years, including Jim Brown, Otto Graham, and Bernie Kosar, but they have never been able to win that elusive championship.

The Detroit Lions

Surprisingly, the Detroit Lions are the only team in the NFC North to have never been to a Super Bowl. The team has made it to the playoffs ten times since 1970, but they have only won one playoff game in that time.

The Houston Texans

As of 2020, the Houston Texans are the only NFL team to have never been to the Super Bowl. The Texans joined the NFL in 2002 as an expansion team, and they have yet to make it to the big game.

The Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars have never been to the Super Bowl. The team was founded in 1993 and has only made it to the playoffs six times in their history. They came close in 2017, but lost to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship game.

The Minnesota Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings are one of three NFL teams who have never made it to the Super Bowl, along with the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Houston Texans. The Vikings have been close, however, losing in the NFC Championship Game on four occasions, most recently in 2017.

The New Orleans Saints

The New Orleans Saints have never been to the Super Bowl. They have been close, but they have never made it to the big game.

The Saints were founded in 1967. They played their first game in 1968.They joined the NFL as an expansion team. The Saints had a rough start, only winning two games in their first three seasons. But since then, they have been one of the most successful teams in the NFL. They have won division titles and conference championships. But they have never won a Super Bowl.

The closest the Saints came to going to the Super Bowl was in 2006, when they lost to the Chicago Bears in the NFC Championship game.

The Saints have a lot of great players, but they have never been able to put it all together and make it to the Super Bowl. Maybe one day they will finally make it and bring a championship to New Orleans.

The New York Jets

The New York Jets are a professional American football team based in the New York metropolitan area. The Jets compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s American Football Conference (AFC) East division. The team is headquartered in Florham Park, New Jersey. In a unique arrangement for the league, the Jets share MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey with the New York Giants. The franchise is legally and corporately registered as New York Jets, LLC.

The team was founded in 1959 as the Titans of New York, an original member of the American Football League (AFL); later, the franchise joined the NFL in the AFL–NFL merger in 1970. The team began to play at Shea Stadium in 1964 and acquired its current name in 1963. The Jets advanced to their only Super Bowl appearance following the 1968 season (Super Bowl III), where they defeated the Baltimore Colts 16–7; this marked off one of only two times that an AFL/AFC team defeated an NFC team at Super Bowls up until that point (the other such occurrence being Super Bowl II). Since 1968, they have appeared in just one more playoff game: losing to eventual AFC Champion Denver Broncos 30-7 during Wild Card Weekend following their 1998 season. However, since 1982 they have been led by three Winless Head Coaches: Bruce Coslet 0-8 start 0-16 record overall 1990-1993; Rich Kotite 0-8 start 1-15 record overall 1995-1996; and Eric Mangini 0-4 start 3-6 record overall 2008.

The Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles have never been to the Super Bowl. They have been to the playoffs a total of 22 times and have won the NFC Championship three times (1980, 2004, 2017), but they have never made it to the big game. The Eagles have a long history of being a competitive team, but they have just never been able to get over the hump and make it to the Super Bowl.

The San Diego Chargers

The San Diego Chargers have never been to the Super Bowl, although they did make it to the AFL Championship game in 1963. The team has been to the playoffs 14 times and has won the AFC West division title 6 times.

The Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks have never been to a Super Bowl in their history. They have made it to the conference championship game three times, but they have never made it to the big game.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are a professional American football franchise based in Tampa, Florida. The Buccaneers compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member team of the National Football Conference (NFC) South division. Along with the Seattle Seahawks, the team joined the NFL in 1976 as an expansion team. The Bucs played their first season in the American Football Conference (AFC) West division as part of an agreement between the two newly formed conferences.

The Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans are the only team in the NFL to never make it to the Super Bowl. The team was founded as the Houston Oilers in 1960 and played in Houston until 1997. They then became the Tennessee Oilers for two seasons before changing their name to the Titans in 1999.
