The Green Bay Packers
The Green Bay Packers are a professional American football team based in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The Packers compete in the National Football League as a member club of the league’s National Football Conference North division. It is the third-oldest franchise in the NFL, dating back to 1919, and is the only non-profit, community-owned major league professional sports team based in the United States. Home games have been played at Lambeau Field since 1957.
The Packers are the last of the “small town teams” which were common in the NFL during the league’s early days of 1925 and 1926. Founded in 1919 by Earl “Curly” Lambeau and George Whitney Calhoun, the franchise traces its lineage to other semi-professional teams in Green Bay dating back to 1896. Between 1919 and 1920, the Packers competed against other semi-pro clubs from around Wisconsin and Michigan, before joining the American Professional Football Association for the 1921 season. Although Green Bay is by far the smallest major league professional sports market in North America, Forbes ranked the Packers as the world’s 26th most valuable sports franchise in 2016, with a value of $2.35 billion.
The New England Patriots
As of the end of the 2019 season, the New England Patriots have the most wins of any NFL team with an impressive 513-373-9 record. The team has been incredibly successful since its inception in 1970, winning a total of six Super Bowl championships. The Patriots have also appeared in ten Super Bowls, more than any other team in NFL history.
While the Patriots may have the most overall wins, they don’t hold the record for most wins in a single season. That distinction belongs to the Miami Dolphins, who went a perfect 17-0 in 1972.
The Pittsburgh Steelers
The Pittsburgh Steelers have the most wins of any team in NFL history. They have won a total of six Super Bowls, which is more than any other team in the NFL. They have also won a total of 21 division championships, which is more than any other team in the NFL.
The San Francisco 49ers
With a total of 579 wins, the San Francisco 49ers have the most wins of any NFL team. The team has been to 19 playoff appearances and has won five Super Bowl championships.
