The 2021 NBA playoffs are finally here! After a long and grueling regular season, 16 teams have qualified for the chance to win the NBA championship.
In the Eastern Conference, the top seed is the Milwaukee Bucks, followed by the Brooklyn Nets, Philadelphia 76ers, and the Miami Heat. In the Western Conference, the top seed is the Los Angeles Lakers, followed by the Denver Nuggets, Portland Trail Blazers, and the Utah Jazz.

Eastern Conference
The Eastern Conference is made up of the following teams: the Milwaukee Bucks, the Miami Heat, the Boston Celtics, the Toronto Raptors, the Philadelphia 76ers, the Brooklyn Nets, and the Indiana Pacers. All of these teams have qualified for the 2021 NBA Playoffs.
Milwaukee Bucks
Even if you’re not a huge fan of the NBA, you’ve likely heard of the Milwaukee Bucks. The Bucks have been one of the best teams in the league for the past few years, thanks to superstar players like Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton. And, although they lost in the 2020 NBA Finals, they’re still one of the favorites to win it all in 2021.
Brooklyn Nets
The Brooklyn Nets are an American professional basketball team based in the New York City borough of Brooklyn. The Nets compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference. The team plays its home games at Barclays Center. They are one of two NBA teams located in New York City; the other is the New York Knicks.

The Celtics do not have homecourt advantage in the first round of the playoffs.
Brooklyn Nets (3)
The Brooklyn Nets are the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference for 2021 NBA playoffs. The Nets finished the regular season with a 47-35 record, good for eighth best in the conference. Brooklyn is led by All-Stars Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, and also features James Harden and Blake Griffin in its starting lineup. The Nets do not have homecourt advantage in any round of the playoffs.

The Miami Heat are seeded fourth in the Eastern Conference for 2021 NBA playoffs. The Heat finishedthe regular season with a 44-38 record, good for 11th best in then conference. Miami is led by All-Star Jimmy Butler and also features Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro and Duncan Robinson in its starting lineup. The Heat will have homecourt advantage in their first-round playoff series against fifth seeded Indiana Pacers.

The Los Angeles Lakers are the defending champions, and they are the favorites to come out of the Western Conference again. The other teams in the conference include the Los Angeles Clippers, Denver Nuggets, Utah Jazz, Portland Trail Blazers, Oklahoma City Thunder, Dallas Mavericks, Memphis Grizzlies, and Phoenix Suns.
Los Angeles Lakers
As the winners of the 2020 NBA Finals, the Los Angeles Lakers have automatically qualified for the 2021 NBA Playoffs. The Lakers will be looking to defend their title and win their 19th NBA Championship in franchise history.
Los Angeles Clippers
The Los Angeles Clippers are an American professional basketball team based in Los Angeles. The Clippers compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Western Conference Pacific Division. The Clippers play their home games at Staples Center, an arena they share with fellow NBA team the Los Angeles Lakers, as well as the Los Angeles Sparks of the Women’s National Basketball Association.
The franchise was founded in 1970 as the Buffalo Braves, one of three expansion teams to join the NBA that year. The Braves moved from Buffalo, New York to San Diego, California in 1978 and became known as the San Diego Clippers. In 1984, The Braves moved to Los Angeles and became the LA Clippers. Through much of its history, the franchise failed to see significant regular season or playoff success. Denver Nuggets
The Denver Nuggets are one of the original NBA teams, having joined the league as the Denver Rockets in 1967. The franchise relocated to Salt Lake City in 1985 and became the Utah Jazz. In 2004, the Jazz returned to Denver.
The Nuggets have never won an NBA Championship, but they have made the playoffs several times. Their most successful stretch came in the 1980s, when they made it to the Western Conference Finals three times. They also reached the Conference Finals in 2009.

Portland Trail Blazers
The Portland Trail Blazers, commonly known as the Blazers, are an American professional basketball team based in Portland, Oregon. The Trail Blazers compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Western Conference Northwest Division. The franchise played its home games in the Memorial Coliseum before moving to Moda Center in 1995 (called the Rose Garden until 2013).
