Who Are Still In The Nfl Playoffs?

The NFL Playoffs

The NFL playoffs are a single-elimination tournament held after the end of the regular season to determine the NFL champion. From the divisional round onwards, it is composed of eight teams, four from each conference. The four divisional winners and two wildcard teams from each conference compete in the divisional round.

The NFL Conference Championships

The National Football Conference (NFC) Championship Game is one of the two semi-final playoff games of the National Football League (NFL), the largest professional American football league in the United States. The game is played on the penultimate Sunday in January by the two remaining playoff teams, following the NFC postseason’s first two rounds. The NFC champion then plays in the Super Bowl, the biggest professional American football championship game, against either the AFC champion or that year’s defending Super Bowl champion.

The NFL Divisional Playoffs

The National Football League (NFL) playoffs are a single-elimination tournament held each year in the United States to determine the champion of the National Football League (NFL). The playoffs were first proposed by George Halas in 1933, but were not instituted until 1970. The tournament Bracket is made up of four teams from each of the NFL’s two conferences, the American Football Conference (AFC) and the National Football Conference (NFC). A total of 28 teams make it to the playoffs.

The divisional playoffs are conceived as holiday weekend games, usually played on Saturday and Sunday (although five times, a Saturday game was played on Sunday due to scheduling conflicts, most recently in 2016), with one game being played on Monday night. Since 1984, the divisional playoffs have been scheduled exclusively for weekends. In 2014, the NFL moved the start times of the divisional playoff games from 1:00 p.m. EST and 4:30 p.m. EST to 4:35 p.m. EST and 8:15 p.m. EST respectively in order to allow for 6 additional hours of rest for players between their final regular season game and their first playoff game; this move was made following a recommendation by the NFL’s Head, Neck and Spine Committee as player safety has become an increased concern in recent years

The AFC Playoffs

In the AFC, the New England Patriots, Pittsburgh Steelers, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Kansas City Chiefs have clinched playoff spots. The Patriots have clinched the AFC East and a first-round bye. The Steelers have clinched the AFC North. The Jaguars have clinched the AFC South. The Chiefs have clinched the AFC West and a wild card spot.

The AFC Championship Game

The AFC Championship Game is the annual championship game of the American Football Conference (AFC) of the National Football League (NFL). The winner receives the Lamar Hunt Trophy, named after the founder of the AFL. The game is played at a pre-selected site four weeks after the end of the regular season.

Since 1970, the AFC’s representative in the Super Bowl has been determined by this single game.Since 2007, it has been hosted by the higher seed in each conference.

The AFC Divisional Playoffs

AFC Divisional Playoffs
The four survivors of the AFC Wild Card weekend advance to the Divisional Playoffs, where they will be joined by the four division winners who earned a first-round bye. The top seed in the conference will host the lowest-seeded team, while the second and third seeds will host the other two remaining teams.

The matchups for this round are:

(1) Kansas City Chiefs vs. (6) Cleveland Browns
(2) Buffalo Bills vs. (5) Baltimore Ravens
(3) Pittsburgh Steelers vs. (4) Indianapolis Colts
(4) Tennessee Titans vs. (5) New England Patriots

The Rams defeated the Cowboys 30-22. The Rams will be looking to win their first NFC Championship since 2001 when they defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 29-24.

The other team competing in the NFC Championship game is the New Orleans Saints. The Saints are coming off of a victory against the Philadelphia Eagles in the divisional round of the playoffs. The Saints defeated the Eagles 20-14. The Saints will be looking to win their second NFC Championship in franchise history. Their only other appearance in an NFC Championship game was in 2009 when they defeated the Minnesota Vikings 31-28 in overtime.

The NFC Divisional Playoffs

The National Football Conference (NFC) divisional playoffs are the second-round playoffs of the National Football League (NFL). The four teams that win in the NFC divisional playoffs move on to the NFC Championship Game, with the winner of that game advancing to the Super Bowl.

In the NFC divisional playoffs, the number one seed is given a bye and automatically advances to the NFC Championship Game. The remaining six teams are seeded two through seven based on their regular season record. The seedings are as follows:

1. Los Angeles Rams (13-3)
2. New Orleans Saints (13-3)
3. Chicago Bears (12-4)
4. Dallas Cowboys (10-6)
