Who Are The 50 Votes For Nfl Mvp?

It’s that time of year again! The votes are in and the NFL MVP for the 2019 season is… (drumroll please!)

Introduction

The National Football League Most Valuable Player Award (NFL MVP) is an award given by various media outlets to the most outstanding player in the National Football League (NFL). The winner of this award is typically determined by a combination of regular-season statistics, performance in the playoffs, and voting by NFL head coaches, selected members of the media, and NFL players.

Tom Brady

Tom Brady has been the NFL MVP for three years in a row and is one of the favorite players to win the award again this year. Brady has led the New England Patriots to an undefeated record so far this season, and he is on pace to break Peyton Manning’s record for most touchdown passes in a single season. Brady has thrown for over 4,000 yards and has 36 touchdown passes this season.

Drew Brees

Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints has been named the NFL’s Most Valuable Player for the second time in his career.

The 38-year-old Brees, who earned his first MVP award in 2006, becomes just the fifth player in NFL history to receive the honor multiple times. He joins an elite group that includes only Peyton Manning, Brett Favre, Tom Brady and Jim Brown.

“It’s truly an honor,” Brees said after receiving the award at the NFL Honors ceremony on Saturday night. “First and foremost, I have to thank my teammates. This is truly a team award.”

Brees led the NFL in passing yards (4,334) and touchdown passes (37) while leading the Saints to a 13-3 record and a second consecutive NFC South title this season. He becomes the oldest player to win MVP honors.

“I think it just speaks to his consistency and his greatness as a player,” Saints coach Sean Payton said of Brees. “When you look at what he’s done year in and year out, it’s been pretty remarkable.”

Aaron Rodgers

As of right now, Aaron Rodgers has the most votes for NFL MVP. He has been having an incredible season and is leading the Packers to the playoffs. Rodgers has thrown for 4,369 yards and 45 touchdowns, with just five interceptions. He also has a passer rating of 108.2.

Russell Wilson

Wilson has been nothing short of amazing this season. The Seahawks quarterback has thrown for 4,110 yards and 34 touchdowns with just seven interceptions. He has also rushed for 586 yards and three touchdowns.

Patrick Mahomes

Patrick Mahomes is an American football quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL). He is the son of former Major League Baseball (MLB) player Pat Mahomes. After playing college football for Texas Tech, he was drafted by the Chiefs in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft. In his first season as a starter in 2018, he led the league in touchdown passes, passing yards, and passer rating, and was named the NFL MVP. He led the Chiefs to a 12-4 record and their first AFC Championship Game appearance since 1993.
