Kyrie Irving

Kyrie Irving was born on March 23, 1992, in Melbourne, Australia. Kyrie’s mom, Elizabeth, was a professional basketball player. Kyrie’s dad, Drederick, played college basketball at Boston University. When Kyrie was four years old, his family moved to the United States. Kyrie has two older sisters, Asia and London. Kyrie’s family is of African American and Native American descent.

Cleveland Cavaliers

Kyrie Irving was born in Melbourne, Australia, to American parents. When he was two years old, his family moved back to the United States and settled in West Orange, New Jersey. Kyrie began playing basketball at a young age and developed into a highly touted prospect in high school. After leading his high school team to a state championship, he committed to playing college basketball at Duke University.

Irving had a successful one-year career at Duke, leading the team in scoring and helping them reach the NCAA Tournament. After the season, he declared for the NBA Draft and was selected with the first overall pick by the Cleveland Cavaliers. Kyrie immediately became one of the Cavs’ best players, winning Rookie of the Year honors in 2012. He has since established himself as one of the best point guards in the NBA, making three All-Star teams and being named All-NBA third team twice. Kyrie is also a member of USA Basketball and won a gold medal with them at the 2014 FIBA World Cup.

Duke University

Kyrie Irving attended Duke University where he played for the Blue Devils men’s basketball team. He was a freshman during the 2010–11 season and helped lead Duke to the NCAA Championship. Kyrie was named the Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA Tournament after scoring 28 points in the championship game. He declared for the NBA Draft after one season at Duke and was selected with the first overall pick by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

LeBron James

LeBron James is an All Star basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers. He is one of the most popular and well-known players in the NBA. He has been selected to the All Star team a record 16 times. He is also a three-time NBA champion and a four-time MVP.

Cleveland Cavaliers

LeBron James is one of the most well-known and successful basketball players of his generation. He was born in Akron, Ohio, in 1984 and began playing organized basketball when he was just nine years old. By the time he was in high school, James was already 6 feet 8 inches tall and had the potential to be a truly great player. He was recruited by numerous colleges but ultimately chose to play for his home state team, the Ohio State University Buckeyes.

After just one year of college, James made the decision to enter the NBA draft. He was selected as the first overall pick by the Cleveland Cavaliers. James rose to prominence quickly, becoming one of the league’s best players and leading the Cavaliers to their first ever NBA Finals appearance in 2007. Since then, he has continued to be one of the league’s top players, leading the Cavaliers to another NBA Finals appearance in 2015 and 2016. He is currently considered to be one of the best basketball players in the world.

St. Vincent–St. Mary High School

LeBron James was born on December 30, 1984, in Akron, Ohio. After high school, he was the first overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers. James played for the Cavaliers from 2003 to 2010, and then joined the Miami Heat for four seasons from 2010 to 2014. He returned to the Cavaliers in 2014 and helped lead them to an NBA Championship in 2016. James has been named NBA MVP four times (2009, 2010, 2012, 2013) and NBA Finals MVP three times (2012, 2013, 2016). He is widely considered to be one of the greatest basketball players of all time.

Anthony Davis

Anthony Davis is an All-Star NBA player who plays power forward and center for the Los Angeles Lakers. Davis is a seven-time All-Star and was named to the All-NBA First Team three times. He has also won an Olympic gold medal and an NBA championship.

New Orleans Pelicans

Anthony Davis is an American professional basketball player for the New Orleans Pelicans of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He plays the power forward and center positions. Davis was selected first overall in the 2012 NBA draft by New Orleans, is a five-time NBA All-Star, and has been named to three All-NBA First Teams and three NBA All-Defensive Teams. He also earned a gold medal playing with Team USA at the 2012 Summer Olympics.

University of Kentucky

Anthony Davis was born in Chicago, Illinois, and attended Perspectives Charter School before playing college basketball for the Kentucky Wildcats. Davis is 6 feet 10 inches (2.08 m) tall and plays the power forward and center positions. He was selected first overall in the 2012 NBA draft by the New Orleans Pelicans, where he has played his entire professional career to date.

In his first season, Davis was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team, and following the season he won Rookie of the Year honors. He became an All-Star for the first time in 2014 and has been selected to four All-Star teams. He has also been named to five All-NBA teams and four NBA All-Defensive teams. In 2020, he led the league in both blocks per game and steals per game, making him just the third player ever to do so.

DeMarcus Cousins

Boogie Cousins is one of the most talented big men in the NBA. He’s a 6’11”, 270lb center who can score, rebound, and pass the ball. He was drafted 5th overall by the Sacramento Kings in the 2010 NBA Draft. Cousins has been selected to 4 All-Star teams and was an All-NBA Second Team selection in 2018.

New Orleans Pelicans

DeMarcus Amir Cousins (born August 13, 1990) is an American professional basketball player for the New Orleans Pelicans of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Kentucky Wildcats, where he was an All-American in 2010. He left Kentucky after one season, and was selected with the fifth overall pick in the 2010 NBA draft by the Sacramento Kings. He is a six-time NBA All-Star.

Cousins was born in Mobile, Alabama, to Monica and popularly known as Boogie Cousins. He has an older brother, Jaleel. As a youngster he enjoyed playing various sports with his friends but had a liking for basketball and football. His mother put him in recreational leagues around Mobile where he struggled early on because of his size but gradually got better.

University of Kentucky

In 2010, Cousins was selected to the USA Basketball Men’s U19 World Championship Team. He helped lead the team to an undefeated 9–0 record and a gold medal in the 2010 FIBA U19 World Championship. He averaged a team-leading 17.4 points, 9.2 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game in the tournament

Russell Westbrook

Russell Westbrook is an American professional basketball player for the Oklahoma City Thunder of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is a nine-time NBA All-Star and earned the All-Star Game Most Valuable Player Award in 2015. Westbrook also was a member of the 2012 United States men’s Olympic basketball team, which won the gold medal in the London Olympics.

He is a nine-time NBA All-Star and earned the Most Valuable Player Award for the 2016–17 season. He is also a two-time Olympic gold medalist and won an NCAA championship during his college career with UCLA.
