Drew Brees is a professional American football quarterback for the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Texas Tech University, where he was a two-time state champion in high school. The Kansas City Chiefs selected Mahomes in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft. In his first season as a starter in 2018, he led the Chiefs to the AFC Championship Game. In 2019, he was unanimously voted NFL MVP, becoming the second African American quarterback to receive the award after Cam Newton in 2010, and led the Chiefs to their first Super Bowl appearance in 50 years and their first championship since 1970.
