He would go on to lead the league in scoring a total of 10 times over the course of his career.

In the playoffs, Jordan averaged 33.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game. He led the Bulls to victory in the NBA Finals in 1991, 1992, and 1993. In 1996, he helped the Bulls win another NBA championship. He retired from basketball in 1999.

Wilt Chamberlain averaged the most points in NBA history. With an average of 30.1 points per game, Chamberlain holds the record for the most points per game in a single season. He also holds the record for the most points in a single game, with 100 points scored in a game against the New York Knicks in 1962.

In his first season, Chamberlain was named the NBA Rookie of the Year after averaging 37.6 points and 27.0 rebounds per game. He went on to win seven scoring titles, eleven rebounding titles, four regular season MVP awards, and two NBA Finals MVP awards. He is the only player ever to average at least 30 points and 20 rebounds in a season, which he accomplished seven times. He is also the only player to average at least 30 points and 20 rebounds per game for an entire NBA career.

In the playoffs, Chamberlain’s scoring did not diminish. He averaged 24.1 points per game and again led the league in rebounding with 17.7 per game as he had done in the regular season. He also set an NBA playoff record with 27 rebounds in Game 2 against the New York Knicks, a record that still stands today. The Sixers made it to the Eastern Division Finals where they faced a Boston Celtics team led by Bill Russell. The Celtics had won the championship in 1959 and would go on to win it again in 1961, but they were no match for Chamberlain and the Sixers. Boston won the first two games at home, but the Sixers won four straight to take the series 4-2. Chamberlain scored 30 or more points in five of the six games, including a 42-point performance in Game 6 that clinched the series for Philadelphia.

These records stood until they were broken by John Stockton in the 1989–90 season.

He did it in 1961-62 with the Cincinnati Royals, averaging 30.8 points, 12.5 rebounds and 11.4 assists. The Royals lost to the Boston Celtics in the first round of the playoffs that year, but Robertson’s historical achievement remains one of the most amazing accomplishments in NBA history.
