Who Did Seattle Pick In The Nfl Draft?

Introduction

The Seattle Seahawks made a total of seven selections in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Their first pick came in the first round, selecting Texas Tech linebacker Jordyn Brooks with the 27th overall pick.

The Seahawks also had picks in the second (CB Tre’von Moehrig, TCU), third (DE Alton Robinson, Syracuse), fourth (RB DeeJay Dallas, Miami), fifth (G Damien Lewis, LSU), sixth (S Ugo Amadi, Oregon) and seventh (OT Colby Parkinson, Stanford) rounds.

The Seahawks Selections in the 2020 NFL Draft

With the team’s first pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Seahawks selected defensive end Darrell Taylor out of Tennessee. They followed that up by selecting TCU linebacker Jordyn Brooks in the second round and then selecting Texas Tech safety Xavier McKinney in the third round.

Analysis of the Seahawks 2020 NFL Draft Picks

Round 1, Pick 27: Jordyn Brooks, LB, Texas Tech
Seattle traded back from No. 18 and still got the player they were targeting all along in Brooks, who many feel was the best pure linebacker in the draft. Brooks is an exceptional athlete with sideline-to-sideline speed and he also has good length and power to go along with it. His biggest issue at times is taking on blocks, but he should be an immediate starter for the Seahawks and should be a very good player for years to come.

Grade: A-

Round 2, Pick 59: Darrell Taylor, DE, Tennessee
Taylor was a bit of a reach in the second round, but he does have some upside as a pass rusher. He’s a bit undersized at 6-foot-1, 267 pounds, but he’s a good athlete with a quick first step. He needs to develop more of a repertoire as a pass rusher and learn to use his hands better, but if he can do that he has a chance to be a solid player for Seattle.

Grade: C+

Round 3, Pick 101: Damian Lewis, OG, Nebraska
Lewis is a big (6-foot-4, 327 pounds), physical offensive lineman who projects as a guard at the NFL level. He’s not the most athletic lineman you’ll ever see but he’s strong and can move people in the run game. He needs to work on his technique in pass protection but he has the potential to develop into a quality starter down the road.

Grade: B-

Conclusion

The Seahawks made some interesting moves in the NFL draft. They selected players that will help fill needs on both sides of the ball. Seattle’s first-round pick, wide receiver D.K. Metcalf, was a bit of a surprise but should be a nice addition to the offense. The team also added two running backs, a tight end, and a defensive lineman in the later rounds. Overall, it was a solid draft for the Seahawks.
